As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of power projects. The Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
<ul><li>Performs mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.</li>
<li>Modifies and reviews production drawings for a variety of power projects.</li>
<li>Designs mechanical systems and selects components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.</li>
<li>Prepare mechanical equipment: packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.</li>
<li>Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings; data interface with suppliers, clients other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers.</li>
<li>Applies strong knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.</li>
<li>Researches and compiles project-related data as required by the project managers.</li>
<li>Quality reviews and updates production drawings for a variety of projects and project-related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software.</li>
<li>Quality reviews the construction administration including coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related installation issues, calculations, field inspections and testing of mechanical systems.</li>
<li>Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power generating facilities.</li>
<li>Communicates with other disciplines (electrical, structural, civil) engineers for efficient project coordination.</li>
<li>Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.</li>

</ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.</li>
<li>May also have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.</li>
<li>Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.</li>
<li>3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.</li>
<li>Successful completion (i.e. passing) FE or EIT preferred.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
