Osborn Engineering is seeking a Department Manager with 10+ years of experience to manage the Mechanical Engineering group. This position will report to the Director of Mechanical Engineering. The ideal candidate would have team and client management experience in a consulting engineering environment.
Position Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Work with Project Managers throughout the company to provide appropriate resources to successfully execute projects.</li><li>
Establish discipline specific work plans and estimates to complete for department staff assigned projects
</li><li>Oversee the production of work product consistent with client requirements and Osborn standards.</li><li>
Supervise efficient execution of projects and staff to meet the performance metrics and goals of the department.</li><li>
Manage expectations and communications with clients for projects providing engineering and technical support.</li><li>
Execute Osborn&rsquo;s QA/QC process for the mechanical discipline on projects.</li><li>
Maintain backlogs and manpower forecasts to ensure proper staffing levels and department utilization.</li><li>
Perform staff resource management and annual reviews including Timesheet and Expense report approvals.</li><li>
Assist Human Resources on recruitment and training efforts.</li><li>
Conduct business development activities, participating in various trade organizations, and preparing or assisting with presentations.</li></ul>
Job Requirements/Qualifications:<ul><li>
10+ Years&rsquo; Experience in Mechanical Design in Consulting Engineering.</li><li>
Ability to work and manage several project teams concurrently.</li><li>
Ability to promote department and staff career growth.</li><li>
Knowledge of mechanical design and load calculation software such as Revit, IES VE, HAP, TRACE.
</li><li>Knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.</li><li>
Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.</li><li>
Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering Preferred.</li><li>
PE License Preferred.</li></ul>
