Primary Duties: The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) is currently accepting applications for a <b>Criminal Investigator</b> or <b>Investigative Auditor</b> position. The federally funded and mandated MFCU is an interdisciplinary team dedicated to protecting vulnerable individuals and safeguarding the finite resources on which they depend. This position is responsible for conducting complex criminal investigations involving Medicaid provider fraud, patient abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. Investigations often involve multi-agency coordination, detailed evidence analysis, and preparation for prosecution.</p><p></p>
<p></p>Primary duties include conducting interviews, obtaining and analyzing documents and other evidence, preparing detailed investigative reports and exhibits, maintaining investigative case files, testifying in court, and interfacing with other law enforcement and government agencies. Travel throughout Idaho is required<p></p><p>
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have above-average communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a close-knit team environment with other investigators and prosecutors; have enthusiasm for public service; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products such as Word and Excel; the ability to work independently; and manage multiple cases simultaneously.</p><ul><li><p><b>
Investigative Auditor Minimum Qualifications</b>:

Criminal Investigator Minimum Qualifications:</b></p><p>

The investigator is expected to develop and manage all investigative aspects of complex cases involving Medicaid fraud and any other white-collar crime that may be associated with the case. These complex cases can be difficult to prove and are generally document-intensive and often extremely voluminous in nature and typically involve multiple suspects, surveillance and consultation with subject matter experts.Mission and CultureThe Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) is a federally mandated and funded investigative and prosecutorial unit consisting of attorneys, criminal investigators, a forensic accountant, a paralegal, and a law office assistant. The mission of the unit is to investigate and criminally or civilly prosecute fraud by healthcare providers, health care facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmacies and other healthcare related provider types that illegally divert Medicaid funds. The MFCU is responsible for investigating and prosecuting abuse, neglect or financial exploitation of patients in any licensed facility and abuse, neglect and financial exploitation of any Medicaid Recipient by their caregiver. The MFCU investigator is expected to work closely with the unit’s staff along with both state and federal investigators from various agencies. <li>Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)</li>
<li>Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel, with reimbursement</li>
<li>Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with FLSA</li>
<li>Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.</li>
<li>Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 20%</li>
<li>Ability to achieve 64% or better of VO2 max on the 2000-meter row, or meet a minimum score of 64% on the 500-meter row test or 4-minute row test, utilizing a Concept 2 Rower</li>
</ul>
<p><b>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience conducting white collar/economic crime investigations</li>
<li>Experience investigating healthcare provider fraud and working with state and federal prosecutors in criminal matters</li>
<li>Accomplished practitioner of the MFCU documentation and report writing system or a like system</li>
<li>Knowledge of healthcare fraud statutes (state and federal)</li>
</ul>
