The Medical Assistant, Lead will supervise the back office staff and will perform various patient care activities and related
 
services under the direction of the professional staff. Duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical

</li></ul>Primary Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Supervise the back office medical assistant staff, and oversee the patient flow.
</li><li>Interviews and exits patients, completing appropriate medical agency and consent forms, ensuring patient
</li><li>understanding and obtaining signatures.
</li><li>Checks chart for completeness, errors, signatures and appropriate assembly.
</li><li>Counsel individuals who need information concerning program services.
</li><li>Perform phlebotomy, injections, vitals, assist with patients exams if deemed by provider, including visual acquits, audiometric screening, patient venipuncture and injections.
</li><li>Route patients to maintain appropriate clinic flow.
</li><li>Maintain and stock dispensary
</li><li>Clean, stock and maintain exam rooms.
</li><li>Assist providers as necessary.
</li><li>Process lab specimens per lab procedure manual and medical protocol.
</li><li>Perform paperwork duties as assigned including recording and filing lab results, provide results and fill abnormal test results.
</li><li>Route charts to appropriate person at the end of clinic session.
</li><li>Able to perform front office duties, answering phones, scheduling, chart retrieval and checking-in patients.
</li><li>Strict adherence to the policy and procedure manual
</li><li>Other duties as assigned by Clinic Manager, Operations Director, or Medical Director</li></ul><div>

JOB SUMMARY
To provide clerical and clinical assistance to medical providers in the delivery of patient health care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the duties of a receptionist. Interacts with patients and members of the care team to provide a range of care services. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li><ul><li><ul><li>

Verifies presence of superbill and checks charts for insurance changes and patient information,</li><li>
Prepares prior authorizations,</li><li>
Transcribes telephone messages from prescription line,</li><li>
Maintains appropriate levels of unexpired medical supplies on crash cart and in clinic,</li><li>
Maintains sanitation of exam rooms and equipment (wipes down thermometers, otoscopes, exam tables, etc....),</li><li>
Enter child vaccinations on Vermont Department of Health website,</li><li>
Conducts Medicaid and Sliding Fee chart reviews,</li><li>
Monitors fax machine and distributes faxes.
</li><li>Participates in Quality Improvement projects under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor and/or Office Manager. Participation may include; participating in a new process or change, providing feedback to the tests of change, and providing suggestions for the next tests of change,</li><li>
Participates in training sessions, monthly and daily staff meetings,</li><li>
