The Medical Support Supervisor is required to fill out the required forms for self-administration of medication including Doctor&rsquo;s orders, medication changes and provide oversight that these forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Act as the hiring manager of medical support staff and carry out new employee education and compliance.</li><li>Manage the performance of medical support staff, annual appraisal, and schedule of shift, location, and provisions of overtime and approval of PTO in regard to for leave or absence.</li><li>Serve as the point of contact for medical support staff and any questions staff may have about the medical department.</li><li>Ensure accurate reporting of state reports and referrals, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.</li><li>Review medical staff activities for any missing documentation, inquire about the status of incomplete referrals and ensure timely resolution.</li><li>Provide education to new operations and navigation employees on the proper procedures for integrated services (coordination of care, physical health, medication services, health promotion, and navigator recovery support)</li><li>Act as the bridge and liaison to the Medical Staff to assist clients of Cornerstone Healing Center to access providers (internally and externally). Set client appointments and arrange facilitated telehealth appointments.</li><li>Provide supervision of the medication room, medication delivery, medication release, medication storage, medication disposal, and all associated elements.</li><li>Assist and monitor self-administration of medication of over-the-counter medication and if trained, injectable medication.</li><li>Monitor medication changes as directed by the physician and alter medication sets (transcription) needed.</li><li>Order medication and med room supplies weekly and pick up and record medications as they come in.</li><li>Offer medication education and review informed consent of psychotropic or opioid medication.</li><li>Destroy discontinued medication bi-weekly, in the presence of a witness (2 staff member).</li><li>Train and implement the CHC Handwashing program. Act as the CHC site handwashing champion. Observe and document handwashing compliance of employees.</li><li>Keep accurate and update to date records of client&rsquo;s medications and any changes made to medications.</li><li>Assist clients in understanding the benefits of taking their medications as directed.</li><li>Train and monitor staff on medication administration and documentation including specific medication issues as needed.</li><li>Train staff in the safe use and application of Narcan or Naloxone to reverse opioid overdose.</li><li>Utilize the AED and administer BLS in an emergency.</li><li>Collect, review, and read the results of Waived Tests; report results to the EMR and when applicable, the MEDIS communicable disease county reporting.</li><li>Report any medication error to the medical director and assure that all paperwork is completed according to agency policy.</li><li>Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements.</li><li>Adhere to established standards of hygiene and universal infection control procedures in handling all samples and supplies.</li><li>Check and report client vitals accurately, with a positive &ldquo;bedside&rdquo; manner.</li><li>Provides educational group facilitation when requested, compliant with agency clinical oversight.</li><li>Transcribe Provider(s) orders accurately within the health record when required.</li><li>Comply with all agency policies and procedures.</li><li>Other tasks and duties as assigned by Cornerstone Healing Center supervisor.</li></ul>ESSENTIAL FUNCTION STATEMENT: The previous duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. The Medical Assistant Team Lead is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care obtaining vital statistics as well as providing clerical and organizational tasks such as appointment scheduling and chart management. Responsibilities
1. Directs less experienced medical assistants to specific duties such as obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.) and phlebotomy services as needed. Mentors, trains and provides input to supervisor in performance of those in direct report. Assigns MA schedules and work flow to meet the needs of the practice and applicable to patient volumes.
2. Checks patient schedules and organizes patient flow.
3. Accompanies patient to exam rooms when necessary. May assist patients with walking, sitting or standing.
4. Charts patient information under nursing supervision, as assigned.
5. Sends and receives patient charts to appropriate department, obtains X-ray and laboratory reports, hospital notes, forms and requisitions as needed.
6. Verifies insurance coverage and patient demographics; reconciles encounter forms against scheduled appointments; ensures chart information is completed and filed appropriately.
7. Assists in cleaning and maintenance of exam/procedure rooms and instruments as instructed or needed.
8. May be required to perform proficient phlebotomy duties.
9. May schedule surgeries/procedures or work in conjunction with Surgical Coordinator verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admissions and consent forms as necessary.
10. Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infections body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation and other hazardous substances.
11. Performs other related duties.

Clinical Administration:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery

SUMMARY
 Reporting to the District Manager, the MOHs Medical Assistant Lead oversees the surgical clinical operations for assigned dermatology clinics in accordance with company policies, procedures, and federal and state laws and regulations. The person in this role provides leadership to MOHs Medical Assistants, focused generally on the surgical clinical functions of the offices and oversees other clinical support positions as assigned.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 1. Report to the MOHs Manager/District Manager for designated scope of offices as assigned
 2. Oversee other MOHs Medical Assistants triage patients in order of priority and provide direction on the case order to ensure schedule is running efficiently and on time
 3. Evaluate skills of clinical support staff for competency levels
 4. Provide skills training and coaching to team members for individual development while ensuring clinic quality standards and customer service goals are met or exceeded
 5. Provide input for performance evaluations and make recommendations for employment decisions
 6. Oversees individual and team adherence to schedule, attendance, and timeliness in arriving to work
 7. Communicate with staff either one-on-one or in groups as needed
 8. Submit and balance inventory, maintaining supply levels as needed
 9. Oversee day-to-day operations of clinic to ensure provider satisfaction while maintaining efficient production tracking
 10. Triage patients in order of priority and provide direction to Mohs Medical Assistants on the case order to ensure schedule is running efficiently and on time
 11. Create/maintain day-to-day schedules
 12. Perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by Management
 13. Ensure proper maintenance of tracking logs which will also include results received, communications with patients, and follow-up required
 14. Coordinate and/or delegate outside referrals and home health care when required
 15. Disclose information when required, using appropriate guidelines and following HIPAA regulations
 16. Maintain drug samples, injectables, and medical supplies on hand, managing expiration dates
 17. Attend/conduct staff meetings and complete mandatory in-service education/training
 18. Ensure a clean clinical work environment, making sure all offices are cleaned and maintained organization upon leaving
 19. Be proficient at assisting with Surgical Procedures, and perform 10 monthly - 5 layers and 5 closures signed off clinically by providers

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
 Work is performed in a medical clinic and offices. Involves frequent telephone and in-person contact with patients, staff, vendors, providers, and management. Requires some flexibility in working hours. Requires the ability to work in a demanding environment and to effectively resolve conflicts as they arise. Occasional weekend and evening work required. Occasional travel may be required.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 Work requires sitting with prolonged periods of walking and standing. Tasks require grasping, fine finger and hand dexterity, and computer keyboarding and mouse usage. This position requires that the associate be able to push/pull, reach, bend, and kneel/crouch/squat. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Normal vision required, with or without corrective lenses.
