<p></p><p>The AEMT&rsquo;s primary responsibility is responding to Intra/Inter-Facility Transports. The AEMT functions within the Emergency Department as a team with the Physicians, Registered Nurses (RN) and Physicians Assistants (PA). The AEMT will adhere to the Hospital's Standards of Patient Care to deliver safe, quality patient care in the Inter/Intra-Facility and Emergency Department settings. The AEMT performs all treatments and procedures within the scope of AEMT practice and as outlined in the Standards Manual, Protocols, Policies and Procedures and Practice Guidelines.</p>
<p><b>What will you do in this role:</b></p>
<ul><li>Will be required to drive a motor vehicle in the course of these duties; must adhere to the Driver/ Fleet Safety Policy and EMS policies on vehicle operations.
</li></ul><ul><li>Operate the ambulance in a manner that is safe and effective, keeping crew, public, patient and equipment safety in mind.
</li></ul><ul><li>Provide for adequate ambulance coverage for the community to include communicating with the Charge/Supervisor, or dispatch, to facilitate coverage of all requests.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains the ambulances in a continuing state of readiness to include maintaining a clean vehicle that is properly stocked and performing a complete inspection of all engine and vehicle systems.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Knowledge of the geography served and surrounding communities.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Complete all TEMSIS reports, billing documents and appropriate charges for ambulance requests within 24 hours, or in cases involving critical care, 4 hours.</li><li>
Interviews patients and caregiver/family on presentation to obtain a bio-psycho-social history relevant to reason for presentation.</li><li>
Examines the patient's physical status.</li><li>
Reviews all test results including EKG, lab, and x-ray for ongoing assessment and reporting to physicians.</li><li>
Reassesses patient status at established time frames.</li><li>
Completes all required documentation in both EMS Charts and MediTech.</li><li>
Communicates patient needs/assessment to physicians and interdepartmental services involved in the patient's care.</li><li>
Ensures thorough, accurate documentation of relevant data obtained during the assessment process.</li><li>
Develops an emergency care plan, in the prehospital setting, that is individualized to patient needs, strengths and weaknesses and according to written protocol and Medical Control.</li><li>
Acknowledges, coordinates and implements physician orders.</li><li>
Administers medications in accordance with State and hospital policy and monitors for desired, side or adverse effects.</li><li>
Implements the plan of care, monitoring for effectiveness in a team format. The AEMT must report to the RN patient condition and status of treatment plan prior to leaving for an ambulance call.</li><li>
Assists the physician and other healthcare providers in administering treatments and procedures.</li></ul>

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a QMAP / Med Tech:</b></p><ul><li>
Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed. Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered, including reason(s) for refusal and notify supervisor and/or Executive Director.</li><li>
Maintain accurate, complete and confidential resident medication and care records according to established procedure and state law.</li><li>
Keep medicine carts and areas orderly, clean and appropriately stocked and locked. Maintain upkeep and cleanliness of medicine carts and medication rooms.</li><li>
Assist care partners in the performance of their job and assume care partner activities when needed or requested.</li></ul><div></div><p><b><br>
Qualifications of a QMAP / Med Tech:</b></p><ul><li>
Prefer experience in a QMAP/Med Tech role.</li><li>
Must possess a current Colorado QMAP Certificate</li><li>
Prefer one year of experience providing residential care to the elderly or similar experience.</li><li>
Ability to understand and conceptualize concepts as well as an ability to make decisions in stressful situations.</li><li>
High level of initiative and self-motivation with an emphasis on establishing and understanding processes with a strong attention to details.</li><li>
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with seniors, their family members and staff in a caring, compassionate manner.</li>
