What does a Medication Aide do for Bonaventure?

These positions are critical within our health care department. In this role, you will be responsible for:
<ul>
<li>Providing personal care assistance to our residents (this includes bathing, dressing, incontinence, etc.)</li>
<li>Answering resident call lights in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Provide exceptional customer service to our residents, their families, vendors and outside providers.</li>
<li>Administering medications.</li>
<li>Complete charting on residents daily.</li>
<li>Inputting medication orders into our MAR (Medication&rsquo;s administration record).</li></ul>

Benchmark Senior Living is looking for a compassionate Certified Medication Technician to join our team! As a CMT, your main role will be to deliver care to our residents within a warm, comfortable, and home-like environment.
 Responsibilities

<li>Communicates questions, concerns, and/or discrepancies related to medication administration to the Resident Care Director (RCD).</li>
<li>Communicates any significant change of mental or physical status of resident to RCD.</li>
<li>Documents supervision of self-administration in MAR.</li>
<li>Documents/ notifies RCD of administration of prn meds.</li>
<li>Responsible for documentation on prn meds and affect.</li>
<li>Recognizes and can assist in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.</li>

Requirements
 
<ul>
<li>Must have state Medication Technician License and demonstrate competency in accordance with the state-approved protocol in drug administration</li>
<li>Successfully complete medication technician competency review (as supervised by RN / RCD) quarterly</li>
<li>CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire</li>
<li>The Medication Technician must complete a state approved training course in drug administration and receive a certificate of satisfactory successful completion.</li>
<li>Med-Techs will be evaluated on their competency by the RCD each quarter</li>
<li>Must have current certification as a nursing assistant or have successfully completed the certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker training program</li>
<li>High School education preferred</li>

<div>We are currently seeking PT/ PRN Medication Aide's to join our team and assist in the newly expanded assisted living and healthcare departments. Previous Medication Aide experience is a plus, as well as experience in an assisted living setting. Under the direct supervision of our LPN's, the Medication Aide: Responsible for ensuring residents receive medications and treatments as indicated on the eMAR. Assist residents with their ADLs as needed. Maintains clinical and professional competency.
