<b>The hours are:</b></p><ul><li><b>
10:30 am - 7:30 pm Monday - Thursday</b></li><li><b>
8:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday</b></li><li><b>
Occasional Saturday rotation</b></li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Key Responsibilities Include:</b></p><ul><li>
Provide support to the clinical staff by reviewing all refill requests and ensuring that the medication protocol/guidelines have been met</li><li>
Manage refill requests that are submitted from multiple sources: refill telephone line, E-prescribe, refill mailbox, refill Hushmail account, patient portal accounts and fax machine</li><li>
Possess critical thinking skills as well as the clinical knowledge required to process refill requests per protocol/guidelines</li><li>
Calculate when refills are due prior to sending to provider for authorization</li><li>
Authorize drug refill as directed by provider per guidelines with the authorization to telephone /fax prescription to a pharmacy
</li><li>Update patient care information in EMR related to medication refills</li><li>
Manage refills in a timely fashion making adjustments to complete refills in the designated timeframe</li></ul><p><b>
Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><b>
Certification as Pharmacy Technician or Medical Assistant/LNA is preferred but willing to train the right individual</b></li><li>
High School diploma or GED required</li><li>
Prior experience in a physician&rsquo;s office, pharmacy, or customer service setting; minimum of 2 years&rsquo; previous experience preferred</li><li>
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with emphasis on customer service</li><li>
Ability to follow oral and written instructions</li><li>
Detailed oriented, ability to multi-task with constant interruption required</li><li>
Above average organizational skills</li><li>

   Receive and respond to prescription refill requests through various communication channels, including phone, email, fax, and Telephone Encounter.
  </li>
  <li>
   Verify the validity and accuracy of prescription refill requests received, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

   Prepare and dispense prescription refills accurately and efficiently, following established organizational protocols and procedures.
  </li>
  <li>
   Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and comprehensive information.
  </li>
  <li>
   Compile and analyze data to track key performance indicators related to prescription refill processing, presenting findings to departmental leadership, and identifying trends.
  </li>

   Adhere to assigned schedules and quality metrics, maintaining productivity and efficiency in prescription refill processing.

   Provide administrative support to clinical staff and managers for special projects, studies, and reports related to medication refill programs.

   Medical Assistant: must be certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants or as a Registered Medial Assistant by the American Medical Technologists.

   At least 1 year experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or medical office environment
  </li>
  <li>
   Knowledge of medical terminology and medications
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong computer experience (data entry, screen navigation, keyboarding), including working in an Electronic Medical Record or Electronic Health Records
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience with Microsoft Outlook (email) and Word
  </li>
  <li>
   Excellent customer service skills
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to adhere to daily schedules and duties
