You&rsquo;ll be embedded on a team from day one, taking on meaningful work and building ownership as the summer progresses. Along the way, you&rsquo;ll strengthen how you approach your work&mdash;using data to inform decisions, solving business problems, and communicating ideas with clarity&mdash;while building fluency in tools like AI that help teams work more effectively.
 
 
As the summer progresses, you&rsquo;ll be expected to move beyond execution&mdash;identifying a meaningful opportunity or challenge within your team, shaping your own point of view, and developing a clear, well-supported recommendation to present at the end of the program.
 
 
By the end of the summer, you&rsquo;ll have a deeper understanding of how the business runs, stronger judgment in how you approach your work, and a foundation of experience you can build on as you grow your career.
 
 
As a Merchandising Intern, you will gain exposure to the merchant role at a global vertical retailer. You will work on a merchandising team within a specific Gap department and will participate in key milestone meetings and contribute to projects that support the business. Past projects include identifying white space in the market for potential opportunities, running a competitive analysis on product assortment and pricing, and participating in competitive shopping with merchant teams for research and inspiration.
 
 
Hourly Rate: $35.00 per hour USD

What You'll Do</h2><div><ul><li>
Support merchant teams in key projects throughout the summer, and actively participate in presentations to senior leadership based on findings</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Monitor trend reporting, social channels, blogs, and magazines to identify trends based on category and project needs</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Create mood/inspiration boards with imagery and product references to support project presentations and category needs.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Shop the competition online and in stores to collect data points on a variety of business needs by category. These needs include data on price points, customer trends, style count in store and online, promotional activity, customer profiles and target customer, flow strategies, and product performance.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Maintain, create, and understand weekly and monthly reports and tools used by merchant teams to understand category performance and participate in conversations and ideas to support the business.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Collaborate cross-functionally with key business partners to achieve goals</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Support in preparing presentations and meeting content for leadership</li></ul></div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Who You Are</h2><div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in progress</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Must be in your Junior academic year graduating in December 2026 or Spring 2027</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>

THE ROLE
The Hospitality and Merchandise Insights Intern will support ongoing data and analytics deliverables across the Legends Global portfolio. The intern will get hands-on experience consulting venues, querying and exporting data for ad hoc analyses, and playing a key role in the quality control maintenance of current data visualizations to ensure operators have access to accurate reporting.
In return, the program will ensure cross-functional exposure to Merchandise and Hospitality operators as well as collaborative opportunities within Legends Global Insights functional areas (inclusive of business intelligence, management consulting, data visualization and engineering, guest insights, advanced analytics, strategic insights, and CRM). The intern will be partnered with a senior leader within the team who will serve as the Intern&rsquo;s mentor and program facilitator.
