Description:OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
 
This classification requires the performance of precise calibration measurements and repair functions on electrical/electronic/physical/mechanical type reference and secondary standards, and related equipment.
 
Maintain these standards and equipment
 
to the requirements necessary for achieving traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the United States Navy, or other recognized national metrology institutes. Work is performed where standards, procedures, and sequences have been determined.
 
 
Perform varied work assignments within the
 
Metrology Organization to acquire the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform the duties of a qualified Electronic Calibration Technician Senior.
 
 
WORK PERFORMED
 
Work in Metrology functions with technical assistance and guidance or work independently with complete procedures or written instruction after initial on-the-job
 
instruction and guidance. Work with progressively less guidance and instruction as knowledge, skill, and experience in classification increases.
 
Perform inspection to determine that equipment to be calibrated is in suitable condition for calibration and use. Troubleshoot and make minor repairs and adjustments needed to accomplish calibration.
 
Perform calibration tasks in the laboratory or in place on
 
electrical/electronic/physical/mechanical Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) such as, but not limited to: AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, capacitance, inductance, power, phase, frequency, microwave, electronic voltmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, multi-meters, power supplies, frequency and event counters, digital voltmeters, and test sets, pressure, vacuum, liquid and gas flow, mass, length, optical, temperature, humidity, torque, force, vibration, and tachometry calibrations.
 
Monitor the performance of the laboratory standards in use and may assist in troubleshooting and repair of laboratory standards.
 
Use procedures, data sheets, or manufacturers&rsquo; manuals and specifications in the performance of calibration.
 
Collect data for trend charts and check standards.
 
Participate in government and commercial audits and assessments. Assist with and/or perform in place calibrations.
 
Perform related duties as required. 
Basic Qualifications: 
<ul><li>Possess technical knowledge in the field of physical sciences or electronics equivalent to completion of two years of courses in electronics, metrology, or other related subjects, or successful completion of the basic DoD Calibration School, or an Associate of Science degree in electronics or engineering technology.</li><li>Possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to use general purpose hand tools.</li><li>Skilled in the use of computers and ability to learn new computer applications.</li><li>Ability to qualify for and maintain certifications/qualifications and/or licenses to perform assigned duties.</li><li>Direct calibration and metrology experience.</li><li>You will need to be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance to support this government contract. No clearance is required to apply. An interim Secret Clearance is required prior to start.</li></ul>

Mechatronics systems design engineers are part of a multidisciplinary team that develops metrology equipment used in the semiconductor industry to enable our customers to solve very challenging requirements.<ul><li>
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal.</li><li>
Work independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and writing scripts using Python or Matlab.</li><li>
Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather the necessary data in the lab or the cleanroom.</li><li>
Define plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.</li><li>
Good understanding of feedback control system design, system identification, signal processing, and its application to control and characterize mechanical systems.</li><li>
Knowledge of numerical optimization and image processing a plus.</li><li>
Strong experience with experimental design and hardware-in-the-loop experimentation to retire design risks.</li><li>
Basic/Intermediate knowledge of precision machine design.</li><li>
Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to quickly ramp from the existing documentation and on-the-job training.</li><li>
Work closely with the customer support organization.</li><li>
Some travel to customer sites &lt; 10%.</li></ul>
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
Base Pay Range: $141,300.00 - $240,200.00

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Position Summary</h2></div>
<div>The Lab Coordinator facilitates the use of the Manufacturing and Advanced Technology classrooms and labs by maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles. This individual will identify vendors and obtain quotes for the purchase of tools, equipment, and supply inventories following College purchasing policies.</div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities</h2></div>
<div><ul><li>Oversee and perform the general maintenance and instructional setup of all Manufacturing and Advanced Technology classrooms and labs (i.e. &ndash; Automotive Technology, Precision Machining, Network Security, Manufacturing, Welding and Fabrication, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Metrology, Engineering, HVAC, and Idea Works labs)</li><li>
Catalog and establish maintenance schedules in college software. Maintain all lab equipment, such as diagnostic equipment, lifts, tire equipment, etc., as needed</li><li>
Maintain list of tools and equipment in MCC software to track assets, maintenance schedules, operating instructions, and other information required to plan and track maintenance and repairs</li><li>
Build training aids to support classroom and lab instruction</li><li>
Identify and order supplies, materials, equipment, and services for classrooms and labs</li><li>
Maintain inventory of lab supplies and equipment</li><li>
Organize supplies for storage and/or distribution</li><li>
Maintain an inventory and check-out system for all equipment and audio-visual materials, if appropriate</li><li>
Conduct basic diagnostic, maintenance, and repair on all tools and equipment, as skills allow</li><li>
Develop and maintain safety and procedural manuals and material safety data sheets for all classroom and lab spaces</li><li>
Obtain quotes following MCC purchasing policies and submit to Administrative Assistants for processing. Obtain I-9 forms from new vendors. Receive orders and verify order accuracy, distribute to appropriate faculty, and notify Administrative Assistants that order is complete or if any items are missing.</li><li>
Develop an understanding of the instruction completed in labs to adequately prepare labs for instructional purposes prior to semester or course start dates. Coordinate maintenance and repairs with faculty.</li><li>
Assist faculty and facilitators with lab instruction setup and special events</li><li>
In partnership with faculty, supervise open labs for students for additional practice to reinforce instruction, as skills allow</li><li>
Train and oversee student employees to assist in creating a safe and clean lab environment</li><li>
Work collaboratively with others (e.g., colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities</li><li>
Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor</li></ul></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Required Qualifications</h2></div>
<div><ul><li>Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in a CTE program or a closely related field or equivalent</li><li>
OSHA certified forklift training and operation within 60 days of start date</li><li>
One year of work experience in a lab environment</li></ul>

Basic skills in word processing, spreadsheets and other computer functions, to keep the lab operating efficiently</li><li>
Ability to learn technological applications such as equipment and maintenance catalog software, operation and testing of equipment, computer, and software used in CTE classrooms and labs</li><li>
Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks and to prioritize</li><li>
Ability to work with multiple faculty and staff members simultaneously</li><li>
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with persons contacted in the course of work</li><li>
Willingness to continually train for technological equipment updates</li><li>
Ability to troubleshoot routine equipment problems</li><li>
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently in the labs and classrooms</li><li>
Ability to safely lift 50 pounds unassisted</li><li>
Must have a valid Illinois driver&rsquo;s license</li><li>
