What you will do
The objective of this position is to deliver Microbiological services to various Kenvue Global R&amp;D sites for multiple product categories under various franchises such as Self Care (OTC drugs), Skin Health and Essential Health (Baby care, Oral Care, etc.) etc.
The Scientist position will be a part of the team that is responsible for Microbiological deliverables of new product development projects, support changes to commercial products and specific research-based activities assigned as a part of Global operations. The key role is to deliver the Microbiology testing and related documentation activities with a compliance focus under the supervision of the team leader.
Job Responsibilities
MICROBIOLOGICAL DETERMINATIONS AND TECHNICAL ASSESSMENTS<ul><li>
Ensure qualification on a wide range of microbiological technologies and instrumentation for testing capabilities.</li><li>
Execute the assigned stability testing for shelf-life assessment of stability studies.</li><li>
Responsible for method suitability and subsequent method leveraging technical documentation under the guidance of the team leader.</li><li>
Participate in method transfer process regarding testing activities.</li><li>

<ul><li>Product Safety</li><li>Is responsible for the identification and monitoring of microbiological standards.</li><li>Develops and reviews the incoming raw material and outgoing product test regime and monitors the program, recommending corrective action where required.</li><li>Tests and releases raw materials to the factory, WIP and finished products based on the successful test results.</li><li>Conducts analysis of development samples, packed products and consumer complaint sample and recommends changes to processes.</li><li>Validates and verifies effectiveness of cleaning processes and procedures and recommends corrective action where required</li><li>Identifies behaviors that will impact microbiologically on raw materials, product or WIP, equipment etc and recommends relevant actions</li><li>Coordinate training and awareness of site teams of microbiology, its implications and controls.</li><li>Hygiene</li><li>Ensures that the manufacturing process is hygienic and microbiologically safe for the production, by monitoring the implementation of appropriate and sustainable hygiene program is in place.</li><li>Conducts Hygiene and Food Safety audits and together with the Quality manager and Production team identify suitable corrective action plans.</li><li>Ensures that immediate corrective action is implemented in the case of non-conformance and possible risk to product safety.</li><li>Conducts hygiene audits of the factory environment, site canteens and ablutions, people and 3rd Party, makes recommendations with respect to changes that need to be made to management or the maintenance department.</li><li>Stock Returns</li><li>Conduct relevant micro tests trade returns, raw materials, in-process and packed product that may be substandard or over age.</li><li>Makes stock return judgement based on the micro safety of the products and recommends the necessary action in line with site and Company policy.</li><li>Co-ordinates the paperwork and supervises the physical action to ensure the follow through of recommendation</li><li>Other</li><li>Lead lab analysts and microbiologists in MPC Factory</li><li>Co-ordinates and monitors site pest control program (internal and external)</li><li>Overall responsibility for running of the Chemical and Micro laboratory.</li><li>Provides representation for Microbiology on the HACCP team.</li><li>Co-ordinates all investigations into Micro incidents.</li><li>Generates reports as and when required to provide consumer safety information to the business/ site</li></ul></div>
