The Silva Lab uses patient-derived iPSC neuronal models to study tauopathies and collaborates closely with both academic and biotech partners in a fast-paced, translational research environment.

<b>Brief Description of Duties:</b><br>
Our research focuses on investigating the role of non-coding RNA in polycystic kidney disease (PKD). We utilize multiple mouse model of the disease to investigate how non-coding RNA affect formation and progression of PKD. Our work include generating mouse models of PKD and performing molecular and physiological analysis to determine the contribution of non-coding RNA in PKD.<br>

<p></p><div><p>The Research Assistant II position is responsible for, with limited instruction for routine work, performing various cell and molecular biology and biochemistry techniques; library prep, mouse handling and colony maintenance, minor mouse surgeries, mouse breeding and weaning, genotyping, flow cytometry and cell sorting, ELISA, single-cell RNA expression analysis in support of the Principal Investigator (PI) and lab research goals.
