<div><p><b>Major Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Competently operates magnetic resonance (MR) equipment used to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures. Procedures include routine musculoskeletal, neurological and orthopedic imaging, arthrogram, neurological angiography, body imaging, and small joint imaging.</li><li>
Obtains medical history from patients, compares requisitions to physician's orders to ensure ordered exam accuracy, and prepares and administers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist.</li><li>
Positions patient and selects proper scanning factors, adjusts factors to attain the appropriate images, and provides magnet protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.</li><li>
Post-processes images as directed and accurately identifies and labels images identifying patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.</li><li>
Maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.</li><li>
Identifies equipment performance issues and performs equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluates new products and equipment.</li><li>
Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.</li><li>
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:</b></p><ul><li>

</p><div><div>The MRI Technologist is responsible for, but not limited to:
</div></div><ul><li><div>Conducts all scheduled and on-demand MRI scans according to department policies.
</div></li><li><div>Handles image reconstruction, archiving, filming, and other software tasks as directed by the Radiologist or standard procedures.
</div></li><li><div>Reviews diagnostic requests for correct anatomy and clinical history.</div></li><li><div>
Explains procedures to patients.
</div></li><li><div>Evaluates and ensures patient safety in the MRI environment, including following all screening protocols and ensuring patients wear gowns (no street clothes in the MRI room).
</div></li><li><div>Helps patients on and off the MRI table, using lift assist devices when needed.
</div></li><li><div>Consults with the Radiologist and apply proper scanning protocols as instructed.
</div></li><li><div>Completes daily work schedules and document procedures using the Radiology Information System.
</div></li><li><div>Monitors patient flow and accommodate unscheduled or add-on studies as needed.
</div></li><li><div>Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions; corrects minor system problems when possible to minimize downtime.
</div></li><li><div>Performs weekly system quality control and all required equipment calibrations, warm-up, and shutdown procedures, with proper documentation.
</div></li><li><div>Maintains daily inventory of medical and other supplies; obtains stock items as needed and reports when non-stock items need replenishing.
</div></li><li><div>Assists in training new graduates, employees, and students on AMI equipment as directed by management.
</div></li><li><div>Perform any additional duties as required and assigned.
</div></li></ul><div><div>This full time, 40 hour per week position will provide coverage in the AMI office locations in Brick and Wall.</div></div><div><div>
The work schedule includes:</div></div><div><div>
Tuesday-Friday</div></div><div><div>
Four (4) - Ten (10) hour shifts</div></div><div><div>
7:30am-6pm, Tuesday &amp; Wednesday, in Brick</div></div><div><div>
9:30am-8pm, Thursday &amp; Friday, in Wall</div></div><div><div>
Rotating Saturdays</div></div><div><div>
Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.</div></div><div><div>
Candidates for this position must be a graduate of an accredited MRI program and are registered in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or ARMRIT. Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start of employment. Previous experience or certification in venipuncture preferred for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently trained/certified, must be willing to obtain. In-house training will be provided.</div></div><div><div>
Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written, are necessary for success in this position. Candidates must demonstrate a patient-focused and team-centered approach to the role, along with a commitment to the entire patient experience.</div></div><div><div>
