This position will also require transporting patients during admissions and discharges along with handling patient information. You will be able to build and utilize your communication and time management skills by carrying out items in collaboration with the clinical and the support team. The entire department is 60 beds, with 20 in CVICU (2W), Neuro (2E) and Trauma (3E). At night we have 2 PCAs who split the department. Patients range in acuity from intubated sedated and immobile to ambulating and using the call light.

POSITION SUMMARY<br>

3. Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in the patient&rsquo;s health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for which care is provided.<br>

4. Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, foley catheters removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.<br>

5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.<br>

6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient&rsquo;s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.<br>

7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.<br>

The Neuro/Trauma Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care to those with acute and chronic neurological disease, injury, and trauma. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient care experience.</p><p>
The Neuro Trauma Unit is a Medical-Surgical level of care that is a patient-centered unit who delivers high quality care to those with acute and chronic neurological diseases. This includes providing compassionate care to patients who have traumatic injuries to the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team of neurosurgeons, neurologist, trauma specialist and medical doctors<i>.</i></p><p>
What you will do in this role:</p><ul><li>
Assess patient condition during admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.</li><li>
Perform procedures and care as ordered by the medical provider.</li><li>
Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.</li><li>
Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response.</li><li>
Maintain a knowledge of medications, assessments, procedures, and equipment used in the care of remote telemetry and medical-surgical patients.</li><li><ul><li>

Perform comprehensive physical assessment on assigned patients, including vital signs, neurological status, pain levels, and other indicators of patient health</li><li>

Provide post-surgical care for patients who undergo neurosurgical interventions, including brain surgeries, spinal cord injuries, trauma related surgeries.</li></ul></li><li>

Atrium Health Pineville Stroke/Neuro Unit</b> is a 32-bed Neuro/Stroke Unit offers state-of-the-art care to patients with neurological disorders including stroke, seizures, brain injuries, as well as telemetry and medical patients. There are 2 Epileptic Monitoring Unit (EMU) beds for study and monitoring of seizure/epilepsy patients.</p>

<p><b>Job Summary</b></p>
<p>The Nurse Aide/Healthcare Technician assists in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe patient environment and performs job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competencies as appropriate to the needs of the patient population served.</p>
<p></p><p><b>Essential Functions</b></p>
<ul><li>Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living.</li>
<li>Assists patients/residents with personal hygiene.</li>
<li>Takes vital signs and height and weight measurements.</li>
<li>Feeds and ambulates patients/residents according to specific procedures.</li>
<li>Maintains patient/resident's rooms in a clean and orderly condition.</li>
<li>Observes and reports changes in patient/resident conditions.</li>
<li>Orients patients/families to unit and instructs patient on safety measures.</li>
<li>Assists with clerical work such as, including answering phones, entering data and maintaining medical records.</li>
<li>Maintains stock supply items in inventory management.</li>
<li>Performs duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II tasks (per North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II Tasks List).</li>
<li>Perform technical tasks with appropriate training such as administering a 12- Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture.</li>

<p>Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must have manual and finger dexterity. Physical abilities testing required.</p>
