Job Highlights</b></h2><p>
The Neurology Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (NEMU) is an existing 28-bed acute care unit that will be moving to the new state-of-the-art UAB Rehabilitation Pavilion, opening in 2025. This neuro unit provides comprehensive and specialized care for general neurology patients, as well as those with epilepsy. UAB Medicine is home to Alabama&rsquo;s only Level IV Epilepsy Center, the highest designation available from the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Nurses on this unit have a unique opportunity to work with a comprehensive range of advanced technology and the latest treatments, including continuous video electroencephalograph (EEG) monitoring. Video EEG captures and records brain activity to accurately detect and classify seizure events, which is critical for providing personalized, appropriate, and precise care for our patients. These nurses are active members of an interdisciplinary care team, working alongside neurologists, neurophysiology technologists, and other expert support staff. In addition, UAB Neurology and Neurosurgery is consistently ranked among the top 50 programs of its kind nationally by U.S. News &amp; World Report, which also has ranked UAB&rsquo;s program as No. 1 in Alabama.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

To assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital. To obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs and outputs. The Minnesota Center for Twin and Family Research (MCTFR; within the Department of Psychology, College of Liberal Arts, University of Minnesota) seeks to identify environmental and genetic influences on psychological traits. The ABCD Study Consortium is a collaborative effort of 21 sites across the US that will seek to address many questions related to substance use and development that will help inform prevention and treatment research priorities, public health strategies, and policy decisions.</p><p>

Collect a variety of biospecimens &ndash; including: blood, breath, saliva, hair, urine and samples using lancets, phlebotomy needles, vacutainer tubes, plus various collection kits.</li><li>
Conduct neuropsychological assessments associated with lab tasks.</li><li>
Store and retrieve data across various networks and servers.</li></ul><p><br>
(40%) Recruit and assess ABCD research participants:</p><ul><li>
Schedule ABCD participants for on-site visits, video conferencing assessments, and phone interviews; remind participants of their upcoming appointments.</li><li>
