Job Highlights</h2>
The Neurology Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (NEMU) is an existing 28-bed acute care unit that will be moving to the new state-of-the-art UAB Rehabilitation Pavilion, opening in 2025. This neuro unit provides comprehensive and specialized care for general neurology patients, as well as those with epilepsy. UAB Medicine is home to Alabama&rsquo;s only Level IV Epilepsy Center, the highest designation available from the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Nurses on this unit have a unique opportunity to work with a comprehensive range of advanced technology and the latest treatments, including continuous video electroencephalograph (EEG) monitoring. &middot; Must be able to work three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts on a weekly basis
&middot; Must be able to work every third weekend
&middot; Holiday commitment consists of 1 holiday per season
 Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Patient Care Tech IIs will provide direct bedside care to patients:
&middot; Performs assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of the patient
&middot; Maintains appropriate documentation on all assigned patients, including flow sheets
&middot; Assists physicians with examinations and tests as needed
Qualifications
To qualify as Patient Care Tech II, you must meet the following requirements for consideration:
&middot; High School Diploma or equivalent required
&middot; One of the following is required: Pennsylvania PCT, PA Certified Nursing Assistant or PA EMT
&middot; Minimum of 2 years nursing assistant, PCT or healthcare experience required. Certification and completion of advanced skills and knowledge training within six months of hire accepted in lieu of experience requirement
&middot; AHA BLS required
