This role manages, edits, assigns and reviews day-to-day news coverage across radio, TV, and digital platforms, and coordinates coverage needs with the Senior Producers. With support and oversight from the Managing Editor and/or News Director, the Freelance News Editor also provides input and assistance on projects under their purview.</p><p>

The ideal candidate must be competitive with a will to win and a proven track record of developing contacts, thinking creatively, and delving deeper into the news of the day. Candidates need a minimum of three years of experience as an Assignment Editor in a major market. A college degree in Journalism or Communications or related field required. Must have the ability to operate a desktop computer and the ability to use the I-News computer system and other computer systems as assigned.
