Job Summary/Description:

WVUE, FOX 8, is looking for a creative, aggressive, and visual editor/photojournalist to join our award-winning news team. The candidate must be able to work in a highly functioning, experienced, talented newsroom. Must have experience with non-linear equipment and have the ability to function in a deadline environment. The candidate will also be required to contribute content to digital platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills needed. If you have an eye for powerful pictures and an ear for great sound, this is the job for you.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Shoots and Edits Special Projects</li><li>
Ability to work on packages with reporters or independently.</li><li>
Maintains video and editing equipment</li><li>
Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content</li><li>
Operates live in microwave and satellite trucks for remote situations</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned</li><li>
Organizes and strings together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or instructions for newscasts and other programming</li><li>
Reviews assembled footage on screens or monitors to determine whether corrections are necessary</li><li>
Trims filmed segments to specified lengths and reassembles segments into sequences that present stories with maximum effect</li><li>
Determines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete spots</li><li>
Sets up and operates computer editing systems, electronic titling systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units to produce a final product</li><li>
Selects and combines the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story</li><li>
Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, work product and desired effects.</li></ul>
Requirements &amp; Skills:<ul><li>
High school diploma</li><li>
Fluency in English</li><li>
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written</li><li>
Minimum two years&rsquo; experience operating video recording and video editing equipment</li><li>
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment</li><li>
Ability to use Adobe creative suite preferred</li><li>
Proficiency with video recording and editing equipment</li><li>
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously</li><li>
Flexibility to work any shift</li></ul>
