Job Description Summary 
We are a rapidly expanding team of Hospitalist physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) dedicated to clinical excellence, quality improvement, and delivering high value care to hospitalized patients. Our mission is to ensure patients receive the highest quality care in a collaborative, patient centered, and cost-effective manner.
The Hospitalist Program is seeking a skilled and motivated Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in a hybrid role supporting both Intermountain Medical Center and our telehealth hub in Murray, Utah. This position provides overnight clinical coverage and combines in person hospital-based care with virtual care delivery.
The Nocturnist APP will work collaboratively with hospitalist physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to manage hospitalized patients during overnight hours. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, comfortable working independently, and able to manage a wide range of acute inpatient clinical scenarios.
In addition to onsite responsibilities at Intermountain Medical Center, the APP will provide telehealth hospitalist services at our telehealth hub, including cross-cover support for rural hospitals, responding to care-related questions, and evaluating hospitalized patients experiencing clinical changes. The role also includes participation in Hospital at Home services, assisting with cross-cover and admissions through virtual patient assessments for patients in their home.
This position offers a unique opportunity to practice at the intersection of inpatient medicine and innovative virtual care delivery while supporting high-quality overnight coverage across multiple care settings. 
Nocturnist Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Provide comprehensive overnight clinical care for hospitalized patients at Intermountain Medical Center, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute medical conditions</li><li>
Collaborate closely with hospitalist physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, effective, and timely patient care during nocturnal hours</li><li>
Independently evaluate and manage patients experiencing clinical changes, escalating care appropriately based on acuity and clinical judgment</li><li>
Perform admissions, cross‑coverage, and ongoing inpatient management in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice</li><li>
Deliver telehealth hospitalist services, including virtual cross‑coverage support for onsite night teams and real‑time consultation for care‑related questions</li><li>
Conduct virtual patient assessments for hospitalized patients and Hospital at Home participants experiencing changes in condition</li><li>

Job Responsibilities<ul><li>
Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities</li><li>
Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs or the people we support</li><li>
Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel</li><li>
Teach the people we serve to monitor their health and provide medication administration training to the people we serve when appropriate</li><li>
Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration</li><li>
Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled</li><li>
Conduct medication closest assessments</li><li>
Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned</li><li>
Collect health related data</li><li>
Conduct nursing assessments</li><li>
Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician</li><li>
Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team</li><li>
Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported</li></ul>

Requirements<ul><li>
Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program</li><li>
BSN preferred, but not required</li><li>
Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing.</li><li>
Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families</li><li>
Must be able to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks</li><li>
Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification</li></ul>

 Physical requirements include: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to communicate.
