Primary Duties and Responsibilities</b></p><br>

Prepares patients to be seen by providers. Assists providers and registered nurses in patient examinations and procedures.</li><li>
Rounds on all assigned patients based on established standards (e.g. purposeful hourly rounding). Reports actual and potential problems concerning patients/families including changes in the patient's condition to the registered nurse and other care team members as necessary. Position Overview:</b></p><p>
Join the Emergency Department team at Henry Ford Hospital as a Patient Registration Representative, where you&rsquo;ll play a vital role in supporting patients and visitors. Following standard operating procedures, you&rsquo;ll manage patient reception, face-to-face check-ins, pre-registration, insurance eligibility confirmation, and cash collections.</p><p>
Your responsibilities include new patient registration, updating records, and addressing inquiries with professionalism and compassion. As the first point of contact, you will advocate for patients, ensuring their needs are met while providing exceptional service that fosters trust and loyalty.</p><p>
This position is key to creating a welcoming and efficient experience for all who enter the Emergency Department.</p>
<div><p><b>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.</li>
<li>One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting preferred.</li>
<li>EPIC training/experience preferred.</li>
<li>Insurance payor systems experience preferred.</li>
<li>ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred.</li>
<li>Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.</li>
<li>Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing with patients, visitors and clinical/non-clinical staff.</li>
<li>Must be willing and able to instruct others.</li>
<li>Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.</li>
