Comprehensive Patient Care:
<ul><li>Conduct thorough health assessments, including obstetric, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, and psychosocial histories.
</li><li>Perform physical exams with a focus on reproductive health, including breast and pelvic exams, cancer screenings, and STI diagnosis.
</li><li>Provide counseling and education on contraception, fertility, sexual health, and overall wellness.
</li><li>Conduct and interpret diagnostic studies, lab tests, and ultrasounds per medical guidelines.
</li><li>Deliver patient-centered care and provide follow-up as needed, seeing an established patient visit goal/productivity expectations, seeing approximately (30-35) patients per day with a combination of scheduled appointments (10-15 minute increments) and walk-ins.
</li><li>Ensure patient care aligns with medical standards and guidelines (MSGs), and protocols as outlined by the affiliate to meet accreditation standards.
</li><li>Respond to after-hours patient calls as part of the on-call team.

Education &amp; Certification:
<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent education in Physician Assistant or Nurse Midwifery programs.
</li><li>Minimum of three years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician assistant or Nurse Midwife preferred.
</li><li>If you are a new graduate applying for a role in Nashville or Knoxville, you will be required to commit to six (6 months) of training at our main Health Center in Memphis, and pass your probationary and training period to be transitioned to your location of choice.
</li><li>Active and unrestricted Tennessee Nursing License.
</li><li>National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife.
</li><li>CPR Certification; BLS. ACLS certification preferred.

UNC Health Campus Care at Carolina is a multi-specialty ambulatory college health clinic providing quality, and affordable health care for eligible students and spouses. Annually, we serve more than 80,000 patient encounters, which includes Primary Care and Women's Health as well as specialty clinics in sports medicine, orthopedics, gynecology, physical therapy, counseling and psychological services, travel clinic and allergy clinic. Weekend acute care is provided from 8-5 PM. On site ancillary services include pharmacy, OTC pharmacy, Student Stores pharmacy, medical laboratory, and radiology. All personnel are trained in the concepts and principles of Performance Improvement and serve as team members and leaders in shaping and defining the organization as it strives to provide quality and safe care. UNC Health Campus Care at Carolina collaborates with Student Wellness and Campus Recreation and other Student Affairs partners to provide education and outreach to assist in keeping the campus population healthy. Education and research comprise another important function of UNC Health Campus Care at Carolina. We provide clinical rotations and practicums for students in the School of Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Public Health, Department of Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health and Radiology. In addition, we serve as a research site for a number of faculty and graduate student grants and contracts, where staff participates with the principal investigators across a variety of medical specialties.
Summary: 
A Physician Assistant functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards. 
Responsibilities: 
1. Clinical- Obtains relevant health and medical history, performs thorough physical assessment, reviews and interprets pertinent diagnostic tests/results. Develops appropriate differential diagnoses. Develops and implements treatment plans including prescribing/ordering of appropriate evidence-based pharmacological agents consistent with departmental guidelines and privileging, and schedules appropriate follow-up management. Actively incorporates evidence-based hospital initiatives to improve patient care. Conducts preventive health screening based on age, history and patient needs. Maintains clear comprehensive yet concise records of all aspects of patient care. Maintains essential knowledge of general disease and pathologic processes. Maintains extensive knowledge of their specialty literature including awareness of developing areas. Consistently derives correct diagnoses through synthesis of clinical data and proper selection and interpretation of diagnostic studies. Develops comprehensive differential diagnoses for patients. Revises the plan of care to meet the changing needs of the patient. Prioritizes work and assists staff to provide prompt and efficient client flow. Consistently maintains high productivity according to identified standards. Leads/participates in projects to improve productivity. Appropriately performs medical procedures consistent with departmental guidelines, privileging, and clinical roles/responsibilities.
 
2. Education- Appropriately and professionally educates clients and/or families regarding medical condition, treatment, and follow-up. Collaborates with clinicians, staff, and students to promote continuity and patient/family centered care. Develops educational materials based on learning needs of clinicians, staff, and students. Provide education/instruction to physicians, housestaff, nursing, ancillaries and/or students. Actively recognizes and participates in identification and achievement of self-learning needs. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs.
 
3. Leadership- Provides instruction to physicians, housestaff, nursing, ancillaries and/or students including but not limited to precepting, shadowing, lectures, training classes, CE, rounds, morning report, and or staff meetings. Participates in community/network outreach programs. Develops/leads community/network outreach programs. Demonstrates both an understanding of the contexts and system in which healthcare is provided and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve and optimize health care delivery.
