</p><p>The Cardiac ICU cares for patients with acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, and those who&rsquo;ve experienced cardiac arrest. The CCU also provides care for individuals with congestive heart failure, including patients implanted with a ventricular assist device (VAD) or other heart pumps. Mechanical circulatory support in the CCU includes IABP, Impella, and the use of VA ECMO.
</p><p>In spring 2023, the unit moved into a new Klarman inpatient building, a state-of-the-art patient care environment. The spectacular new space is designed to optimize the experience for patients and providers and includes a rooftop healing garden for patients, families, and caregivers..</p>

Why This Role Is Important?

The RACU/General Medicine is an eighteen-bed unit crafted for the care of patients requiring focused pulmonary care and the care of patients with general medical diagnoses. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, conscientious patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring &amp; reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. PCAs will float between two units, Bigelow 9 General Medicine, and Bigelow 13 RACU.<p></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b><br>
Qualifications</b></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><ul><li>
Qualification - Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical</li><li>
patient care. - Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR</li><li>
Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
