To succeed in this position,</b> you must have high emotional intelligence, problem-solving ability and resilience in a high-pressure, significantly changing environment. You're a skilled psychiatric nurse who can model how to participate in interdisciplinary formulation of individual treatment plans and how to give skilled nursing care and therapy. You have extensive knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles, practices and procedures, as well as a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and Joint Commission standards related to behavioral healthcare.</p><p><b>
To be considered for this position, </b>you must have the following qualifications:</p><ul><li>
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a master's degree in psychiatric and mental health nursing required</li><li>
a current, unrestricted North Dakota RN license, and/or multistate RN compact license in good standing</li><li>
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive senior nursing leadership experience, in a psychiatric hospital setting</li><li>
Experience with formulating and operating within a multimillion-dollar budget</li><li>

Location and Hours</b>: This position is a full-time, executive-level role with a standard 40-hour workweek and added hours as needed. The position is located onsite at the ND State Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota.</p><p><b>
About ND State Hospital</b>: The North Dakota State Hospital provides psychiatric, and substance use disorder treatment services to North Dakotans who require inpatient or specialized residential care. Programs and services are delivered by a wide variety of clinical and support staff. Clinical disciplines include psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work, addiction counseling, chaplaincy, education, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation, and vocational rehabilitation. The North Dakota State Hospital will be building a new 140-bed, state of the art facility in 2025.</p><p><b>

The CNO will be a key member of the team at River Place Behavioral Health. The CNO directs, plans, coordinates, monitors, and supervises nursing and the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services. We are looking for someone that provides a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and the nursing staff.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Sets the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care.</li><li>
Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents&rsquo; physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.</li><li>
Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel.</li><li>
Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff.</li><li>
Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.</li><li>
Role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrated sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety.</li><li>
Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for nursing department.</li><li>
Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures and nursing protocols within the facility to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards.</li><li>
Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.</li><li>
Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback and development opportunities.</li><li>
Set and carry out policies, goals and procedures for their function or department.</li><li>
Evaluate the quality of care, staff's work and the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the function or department.</li><li>
Develop and oversee functions or departmental budget and reporting.</li><li>
Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.</li><li>
Provide direct care as needed. Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree in nursing or mental health nursing strongly preferred.</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in nursing or commensurate experience required.</li><li>
10+ Years RN experience preferred. 6 years RN experience required.</li><li>
Nursing leadership experience in a freestanding psychiatric hospital strongly preferred.</li><li>
Prior CNO/DON experience strongly preferred.</li><li>
2 years behavioral health experience as and RN in an inpatient psychiatric setting required</li><li>
3 years of progressive nursing management or administrative nursing experience required.</li></ul><div></div><div><br>
