Position Summary

The University of Southern Indiana seeks applications for a Nursing Clinical Coordinator. The position begins April 1, 2026 or when filled.
 
 
The Nursing Clinical Coordinator supports clinical education for students across nursing programs with a primary focus on graduate nursing. This position works closely with students beginning in their first semester to guide the clinical placement process, ensure completion of clinical requirements and support timely progression through the program. 
 
The Clinical Coordinator collaborates with faculty, program leadership, clinical partners and university offices to manage clinical placements, onboarding and compliance processes, and clinical affiliation documentation. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate clinical data, including entry and monitoring of student, preceptor, and placement information in the Typhon clinical tracking system, and to support reporting, accreditation and continuous program improvement.
Duties/Responsibilities
Support all graduate nursing students from their first semester through program completion by guiding them through the clinical placement process, including timelines, site requirements, expectations, and issue resolution.

</li>Coordinate and monitor clinical placements to ensure students meet required clinical hours, stay on track academically, and have a clear point of contact for placement questions and documentation needs. 
<li>
</li>Track and monitor student clinical requirements on an ongoing basis, including immunizations, licensure, certifications, background checks, and facility-specific training. 
<li>
</li>Monitor clinical application and onboarding deadlines and proactively communicate submission requirements to students. 
<li>
</li>Complete and submit required clinical onboarding documentation through third-party platforms as required by clinical partners. 
<li>
</li>Facilitate the collection and organization of documentation necessary to establish, maintain, and renew clinical affiliation agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOUs). 
<li>
</li>Collaborate with the nursing leadership, University Risk Management, and other institutional offices to support clinical contracting and compliance processes. 
<li>
</li>Maintain organized, accurate, and auditable clinical records in accordance with university policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements. 
<li>
</li>Collaborate with faculty, program directors, and program leadership to align clinical placements with course objectives, student learning outcomes, and program needs. 
<li>
</li>Facilitate discussions with prospective and current students regarding graduate nursing programs and clinical education requirements. 
<li>
</li>Provide regular updates to program leadership regarding clinical placement status, compliance trends, and emerging issues related to clinical education.

</li>Assist with data tracking and reporting related to clinical placement outcomes, site utilization, and student progression in collaboration with program leadership.

</li>Enter, maintain, and monitor clinical placement, student, and preceptor data in Typhon and other clinical tracking systems used by the university to support compliance, reporting, and accreditation requirements.

</li>Support accreditation, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement efforts through accurate clinical data management.

</li>Identify potential clinical barriers or compliance issues early and assist with problem-solving to support student success.

Required Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited institution required; preferred majors include nursing, health sciences, healthcare administration, or a related field.

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
The Clinical Informatics Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of and providing ongoing support for corporate/division/facility-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to the electronic health record and other clinically related technologies. This individual is responsible for coordination, support, and completion of project assessments, project advancements, workflow mapping, tools, and resources focused on Clinical Informatics&rsquo; initiatives including but not limited to provider order entry and documentation, standard clinical documentation, Promoting Interoperability, and other technology that supports clinician workflow. The Clinical Informatics Coordinator will participate in the company-wide community of Informatics by working with Director of Clinical Informatics and facility peers to ensure clinical applications are well supported throughout the facility.
What you will do in this role:<ul><li>
Implement and support corporate and division-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to the EHR and other clinical informatics initiatives.</li><li>
Develop, execute, and support education plan, tools and resources focused on the EHR and other clinical informatics initiatives.</li><li>
Train and onboard new providers and staff.</li><li>
Support technology implementations that support clinician workflow.</li><li>
Resolve complex issues and requests escalated from to the division Service Desk or other division or health system service resources.</li><li>
Monitor various EHR utilization trends on an ongoing basis.</li><li>
Provide system and operations expertise for implementation of process &amp; system changes.</li><li>
Provide Go-Live support (elbow support) for all applicable implementations.</li><li>
Participate in systems training for project team, serve as Super User for Clinicians.</li><li>
Provide specialized support for physicians. Actively support and promote systems standardization, utilization, and best practices in the area of clinical informatics.</li><li>
Collaborate with division team members on clinical support of the CPN Connect system, as well as application of advanced support of CPN Connect initiatives.</li></ul>
What qualifications you will need:<ul><li>
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state preferred.</li><li>
Bachelor of Science in Nursing highly preferred.</li><li>
1-3 years of experience in an acute setting required.</li><li>
1-2 years of experience in Clinical/Health Informatics, clinical application support, or equivalent role preferred.</li></ul>
