Under general supervision, performs a variety of medical assisting duties such as; preparing patients for examinations; obtaining medical histories and vital signs, maintaining and organizing exam rooms including stocking of supplies; assisting physician or provider with examinations or surgeries; performing diagnostic tests and studies. Acts as an assistant to the physician or provider in patient care management. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Assignments involve judgment based on knowledge gained through a medical assistant training program or LPN program, and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

</li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for the management of patient flow; escorts patients to exam rooms, ensures patients are prepared for exams.
</li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for cleanliness and orderliness of exam and procedure rooms according to OSHA guidelines. Ensures necessary supplies and instruments are appropriately stocked in exam rooms.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ensures patient&rsquo;s medical record is complete prior to appointment time by reviewing the record to confirm tests, studies and consult reports were obtained.
</li></ul><ul><li>Prepares patients for examinations and surgeries by taking vital signs, according to office protocol and documents findings in the medical record. Documents other patient medical information as directed by physician. Requests patient drape for exams according to protocol outlined by provider.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists with diagnostic procedures, treatments, examinations. Performs diagnostic procedures, treatments, injections and immunizations, and venipuncture according to protocol outlined by the physician or provider.
</li></ul><ul><li>Handles and/or refers patient inquiries to physician or provider according to instructions, verbal or written.
</li></ul><ul><li>Obtains pharmacy information and upon physician/provider approval, contacts pharmacy to place orders for prescriptions.
</li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for making appointments for diagnostic tests, studies, consults, surgical boarding and scheduling of pre admission testing per the direction of physician or provider. Obtains and completes referral forms as indicated.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists in scheduling patients and answering telephone.
</li></ul><ul><li>Acts as a liaison with outside ancillary services for issues regarding reports and laboratory equipment.
</li></ul><ul><li>Routinely provides physician/provider with incoming diagnostic test results for review and signature. Through direction of physician/provider contacts patient to provide test results, instructions or schedule follow-up visits. Maintains patient follow-up system.
</li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for ensuring medical supplies and equipment for procedures are ordered and available, in advance of need, including sterilization.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains drug sample inventory system and health department immunization log.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists with timely retrieving and filing of medical records and medical record documents including dictation.
</li></ul><ul><li>Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested including annual OSHA training. Maintains work area according to OSHA guidelines.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists in CQI by recommending specific ideas for improvement and working on CQI projects as requested.
</li></ul><ul><li>Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

No experience required. Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant educational program. Five years of experience as a medical assistant may replace educational requirement. Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 2 months of employment and maintain throughout employment.

The Department of Pathology at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) is seeking to expand its faculty in the Division of Anatomic Pathology with an M.D., D.O. or M.D./Ph.D. board-certified or board-eligible pediatric pathologist. Academic appointment will be at the level of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Pathology &amp; Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine. 
TCH is the nation's largest children's hospital and is ranked No. 3 in U.S. News and World Report's 2023 Honor Roll of Best Children's Hospitals, and in the top 5 in six of the ten U.S. News &amp; World Report-recognized pediatric subspecialties. The Texas Children's Hospital complex, located within the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical campus in the world, includes the original Abercrombie Building, West Tower, Legacy Tower, Mark A. Wallace Tower and the Feigin Tower. Within these buildings are a full range of primary to complex pediatric services, in addition to pediatric-focused research and administration. Adult services within the TCH complex include the Pavilion for Women, a stand-alone center for high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, fetal medicine and fetal surgery; and the newly opened Adult Congenital Heart program, located in Legacy Tower. The broader TCH facilities network is comprised of the West Campus, a community hospital in suburban West Houston; and The Woodlands, the first hospital devoted to children's care for communities north of Houston. Scheduled to open in 2024 is the Presidio Campus, located in Austin, which will extend TCH's reach beyond the greater Houston area. 
Expansion in the size and scope of Texas Children's Hospital necessitates additional support in pediatric surgical and autopsy pathology, placental/perinatal pathology, solid organ transplant pathology, and cytopathology services. Additional subspecialty services include neuropathology, hematopathology, electron microscopy and gynecologic pathology. The combined annual surgical case volume exceeds 16,000 specimens from pediatric and gynecologic surgeries and obstetric deliveries, with approximately 3,000 additional cytopathology cases and 120 pediatric and perinatal autopsies annually. Within the Department of Pathology at TCH are additional Divisions of Genomic Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Informatics, Transfusion and Coagulation, Community Pathology, and Discovery. 
Pathologists at Texas Children's Hospital have primary full-time academic appointments in the Department of Pathology &amp; Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine and are expected to contribute to educational and scholarly activities in the Department of Pathology based at Texas Children's Hospital, as well as pathology resident and fellow education. Minimum Qualifications</h2></div><div>

Primary service responsibilities will include pediatric and perinatal/placental pathology. Experience/Qualifications<ul><li>

We are looking for an experienced RN for a newly created float position. This position will work in a clinic nurse role and support our on-site triage team. This position could be 4 or 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts. Monday-Thursdays (10am-6pm) Fridays (8-4pm). If working 4 days a week the off day would be Wednesdays. The primary clinic site would be in Waukesha, but flexibilty needs to support our other clinic locations needed.
