 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Perform conceptual, FEED, Studies, and detailed offshore analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform preliminary sizing for structural members to provide preliminary input to Structural 3D and 2D modelling
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepares structural computer models using SACS for primary steel geometry and loadings, and undertakes structural analyses for all anticipated operating, installation, transportation, loadout and fabrication conditions
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures structural compliance with structural specifications as well as applicable code requirements and national / international standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepares structural engineering input for secondary and tertiary steel design, prepares structural design sketches for input to 3D modelling/ 2D drawing production and prepares computed aided or hand calculations for justification of structural configuration for compliance with specifications and relevant design codes

 Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.

 Undertakes structural weight estimation for input into the project weight report

 Provide technical support to other members of the team

 Ensure Wood and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated work

 Prepare MTOs of structures.

 Experience

 Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or master&rsquo;s degree in Structural or Offshore Marine Engineering.

 Eight to twelve years of experience in Oil and Gas with a major contractor or consultant.

 Enrolled on the Register of Engineers in the State of Qatar, Grade B Category as a mandatory requirement

 Lead and guide a team of Structural engineers and designers to generate FEED and detailed engineering design basis, specifications, drawings, conduct engineering analysis and associated calculations and recommend technical solutions for Topsides, Jacket for greenfield and brownfield modification projects.

 Wood is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible to execute the activities and processes associated with Offshore Engineer in SFR Project. Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Operation of SBM and Pipeline System oil &amp; gas industry. Responsible for supporting and execute general engineering activities directly linked to Offshore Structural and Marine Engineering and manage EPC Contractor Deliverables.
 
 
 Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Marine and offshore structural related activities as involve in SBM and Pipeline system detailed design, Installation engineering, Construction and Commissioning.
 </li>
 <li>
 Offshore Survey, Navigational Studies, mooring analysis, seismic analysis etc.
 </li>
 <li>
 SBM and its related vendor deliverables.
 </li>
 <li>
 Mooring Anchors, Chains, Mooring Hawsers, PLEM and SBM location,
 </li>
 <li>
 Installation and engineering including Analysis and installation procedures of Offshore Structural, Geotechnical scope.
 </li>
 <li>
 Apply Offshore engineering practices, standards, and design codes i.e. DNVs, OCIMS, AWS, APIs, ABS etc.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review Offshore engineering deliverables i.e. (SBM, PLEM and related pipeline).
 </li>
 <li>
 Challenge the project design assumptions and strive to bring more values to the project.
 </li>
 <li>
 Compile information from FEED contractor reports; evaluate and analyze them using Offshore engineering standards and codes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Actively participate and provide directions in the engineering reviews and meetings and take lead when required.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide innovative solutions to overcome project challenges including cost and schedule while still maintaining compliance to the design codes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in solving Offshore engineering challenges that are recognized during the development of the EPC.
 </li>
 <li>
 Reviewing engineering deliverables to monitor HSSE, progress and ensure conformance to codes and project standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Be responsible for the coordination, execution, and progress of Offshore engineering design.
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow up turnover of the Offshore engineering documents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Be responsible for technical accuracy, quality, and economy of Offshore engineering applications design.

 Responsible for site verification of equipment location, pipe routing, tie-ins and constructability study.
