This is a key role within the Wood Doha office delivering across study, FEED, EPC and PMC scopes of work.  Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Lead and guide a team of Structural engineers and designers to generate FEED and detailed engineering design basis, specifications, drawings, conduct engineering analysis and associated calculations and recommend technical solutions for Topsides, Jacket for greenfield and brownfield modification projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Act as Lead Engineer in project execution, taking ownership of specific tasks within the project.
 </li>
 <li>
 QA/QC, the structural team engineering deliverables for correctness and quality, marks-up any comments or revision of these documents and ensures that the changes are included and completed on the latest copies of all affected documents.
 </li>

 Able to check, correct design report, drawings developed by the team delivered as per the project requirement
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct technical review of the project to ensure compliance with client's specifications as well as resolving project technical queries
 </li>

 Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

 Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.

 Experience
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or master&rsquo;s degree in Structural or Offshore Marine Engineering.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum 15 years&rsquo; experience in Oil &amp; Gas Industry and offshore engineering design consultancy
 </li>
 <li>
 Enrolled on the Register of Engineers in the State of Qatar, Grade A Category as a mandatory requirement
 </li>
 <li>
 If not enrolled on the Register of Engineers in the State of Qatar, then candidates must be a Chartered Engineer

 Proven track record as a Structural Lead for Topsides, Jacket project.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience of working in a variety of projects and phases, including greenfield and brownfield, on and offshore, Pre-FEED through to EPC
 </li>
 <li>
 Extensive, broad experience in offshore structural engineering, including design, analysis, condition assessment, Brownfield structural engineering modification and life extension strategy development.
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous experience working on offshore life extension projects in regions such as the North Sea, Middle East, or Asia-Pacific.
 </li>
 <li>
 Understanding of substructure and topsides in-service analyses; pre-service analyses will also be beneficial.

 Proven experience in performing advanced structural analysis using SACS software (essential).

 In depth knowledge with International and client standards specifications like ISO codes, API codes, AISC codes, CAP437, DNV codes, Shell Dep codes, etc.

 Perform conceptual, FEED, Studies, and detailed offshore analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform preliminary sizing for structural members to provide preliminary input to Structural 3D and 2D modelling
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepares structural computer models using SACS for primary steel geometry and loadings, and undertakes structural analyses for all anticipated operating, installation, transportation, loadout and fabrication conditions
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures structural compliance with structural specifications as well as applicable code requirements and national / international standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepares structural engineering input for secondary and tertiary steel design, prepares structural design sketches for input to 3D modelling/ 2D drawing production and prepares computed aided or hand calculations for justification of structural configuration for compliance with specifications and relevant design codes
 </li>

 Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures of structural primary and secondary steel design to demonstrate compliance with design codes and specifications.

 Manage own time to meet agreed deadlines and budgets and develop plans for short-term work activities in own area.
