It includes some answering the phone, scheduling patients, and insurance verification. We need someone that is excited to work with people, loves to help others and cares about giving a 1st class experience. Having a 'eye' for style, and ability to listen to needs is critical. This is a perfect job for someone to work in a local medical/optometry office and be a part of a fun team making a difference in our community. The Assistant Manager assists the General Manager with developing and managing promotions, ordering merchandise and managing all operational aspects of running the business. In addition to the day-to-day tasks, the assistant manager will hire and train sales associates to work on the floor as well as be adept at organizing and solving problems.
Assistant Manager Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Assist the general manager in organizing, planning, and implementing strategies to drive growth and efficiency of the store operations.</li><li>
Coordinate operations and ensure schedules are received to meet staff coverage objectives.</li><li>
Supervise and motivate staff to meet and exceed store goals.</li><li>
Monitor retail operating costs, budgets, and resources.</li><li>
Support the recruitment process for open roles in the store and assist with training &amp; development.</li><li>
Ensure staff are well versed in Big City Optical&rsquo;s value proposition and are comfortable communicating and evangelizing it with clients.</li><li>
Communicate with clients and evaluate their needs and specifications.</li><li>
Proactively listen to clients and look for opportunities to exceed their expectations.</li><li>
Assist clients with frame selection.</li><li>
Educate on lens options.</li><li>
Ensure the store operations adhere to the company&rsquo;s policies and guidelines.</li><li>
Participate in off hours inventory count work as needed.</li><li>
Create reports, analyze, and interpret retail data to assist the General Manager with District Reporting</li><li>
Process payments and maintain order and patient care systems as required.</li><li>
Additional responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the store.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Assistant Manager Requirements and Qualifications<ul><li>
High School diploma or equivalent experience</li><li>
Experience in retail service or sales</li><li>
Excellent customer service</li><li>
 Proficiency in office productivity technologies (Microsoft, G-Suite etc.) and the ability to learn and use new technologies for day-today patient and business transactions.</li><li>
Ability to effectively train and motivate sales associates.</li><li>
Excellent organizational, collaboration, problem-solving, project management and communication skills</li><li>
Ability to stay on top of industry trends.</li><li>
Adhere to company policies on attendance, dress code and workplace safety.
</li><li>Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 10 miles to support coverage at other locations as needed.</li><li>
Experience working in an optical dispensary. (required)</li><li>
Multilingual Preferred not required - fluent in English and Spanish</li><li>
