As an Optical Lab Technician, you'll be responsible for cutting, edging, and creating prescription lenses to ensure customers receive their new glasses in a timely manner. Your technical skills and attention to detail will contribute to our high standards of quality and service. Experience is preferred but not required, as we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Lab Work: Identify and work with basic optical laboratory equipment, tools, supplies, and materials. Consistently adhere to hourly deadlines for finishing jobs.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prescription Management: Correctly read and interpret prescription specifications and input into the computer to ensure lenses are cut properly.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintenance: Maintain the lab area and equipment in a safe and organized manner. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly lab equipment maintenance as scheduled and in accordance with lab/equipment manual specifications.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Operational Excellence: Perform multiple concurrent tasks at several different equipment stations to maintain acceptable job flow. Fill out all assigned reporting forms in a timely manner.</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience working in a lab or technical setting</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience working in the optical industry is preferred</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow technical manuals and protocols</li></ul>

 LOCATION

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support</li>
</ul><ul><li>Determine patient wants and needs and selling to exceed their expectations</li>
</ul><ul><li>Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions</li>
</ul><ul><li>Able to operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer</li>
</ul><ul><li>Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needs</li>
</ul><ul><li>Can accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt</li>
</ul><ul><li>Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames</li>
</ul><ul><li>Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process</li>
</ul>
 QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience</li>
</ul><ul><li>Favorable result on background check as required by state</li>
</ul><ul><li>Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States</li>

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity&mdash;including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus&mdash;is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.</li>
