The Role: 
A Visionworks Sr. Optical Specialist-Lead/Sales Lead is the very face of our business and is dedicated to ensuring the best possible journey for every patient and customer. This person is trained and knowledgeable about optics, our products/services and managed vision care. The Sr. OS personally takes the patient/customer through the Visionworks experience ensuring their eyewear needs are met in a simple, human and bold way. A Senior Optical Specialist has 12 mo. prior industry (optical) experience.
 
The SR. OS currently has and maintains license requirements per state guidelines in this role and dispenses eyewear in states where required and/if licensed.
 <ul>
<li>Delivers daily sales goals by ensuring the best execution of the Customer/Patient Experience journey</li>
<li>Engage with patients/customers and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs</li>
<li>Measure patients/customers for their eyewear and maintain product/optical knowledge through cont. training and development to ensure eyewear is Right the First Time. May troubleshoot eyewear needs as necessary</li>
<li>Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's financial and customer experience goals including opening and closing the store as needed in LEAD positions only</li>

Qualifications:

<li>12 months optical experience necessary (within Visionworks or other organization) or ABO Certification in lieu of experience</li>

POSITION SUMMARY: The Scribe assists the doctor by transcribing appropriate data into the patient medical record during the patient exam in order to optimize the doctor&rsquo;s time with patients. This position will also assist the technician by performing various administrative and clinical functions, including obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary and ancillary testing, scheduling patients, and preparing the exam room.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>During the exam, accurately enter information into EHR as dictated by the doctor.</li>
<li>Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.</li>
<li>Escort the patient to Optical and introduce to the Optician, reiterating the doctor&rsquo;s recommendations.</li>
<li>Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.</li>
<li>Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.</li>
<li>Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.</li>
<li>Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by leadership.</li>
</ul>
SUPPLEMENTARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Depending upon the patient volume and/or patient flow, you may be required to perform the following tasks:
<ul>
<li>Prepare patients for eye examinations and vision therapy; confidentially instruct patients about medications, tests, and procedures.</li>
<li>Perform various vision and diagnostic tests.</li>
<li>Collect patient medical history and enter data into EHR.</li>
<li>Assist with answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and effectively maintaining appointment books for doctors, as well as assist in completing recalls.</li>
<li>Occasional travel to support other offices may be requested.</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
<ul>
<li>High school graduate or equivalent.</li>
<li>Previous experience in optometry is preferred.</li>
</ul>
