The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and have effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise. Our physician assistants are responsible for providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to patients in the surgical, inpatient and outpatient settings. Teaching associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position has a flexible start date in the spring or summer of 2026.

The base salary range for this position will be: $10,000 - $14,850 per month ($120,000-178,200 annually) commensurate with qualifications and years of experience as a physician assistant, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. <p>We are a busy Orthopaedic practice in Upland looking for a full-time surgery scheduler to coordinate surgeries and in-office procedures for our practice. We have three physicians which will book around 30-40 surgeries and 10-20 procedures each month. Surgery scheduling experience required. Familiarity with Orthopaedic procedures and codes is a plus!</p><p><b>Primary Job Duties:</b></p><p>Procedure &amp; Surgery Scheduling: must utilize the operating room block time to schedule surgery time with patients; this is often done in person during clinic appointments but can also be done via phone<br/>Authorizations &amp; Eligibility: must confirm patient eligibility and benefits with insurance plan and must submit for and obtain prior authorizations for all procedures or surgeries. _Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes required.<br/>_Advise patients of benefit info, collect any deductibles, co-insurance, or deposits prior to procedure/surgery dates<br/>Provide patients with medical clearance and consent forms; follow up with patients for returned clearance and consentsCancel and/or reschedule appointments as needed<br/>Call patients one day prior to surgery for confirmation of date, time, and any pre-surgery instructions<br/>Work with Front Office staff, Back Office medical assistants and physicians with regards to surgery appointments.</p><p><b>Requirements:</b></p><p>Must have at least one year Surgery Scheduling experience; Orthopaedic PreferredMust know diagnostics, CPT codes.<br/>Experience with prior surgery authorization and experience with HMO authorizations.<br/>Experience with an EMR/EHR system.<br/>Experience with Excel spreadsheets.<br/>Must have organizational skills and great phone etiquette</p><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $21.83 - $23.00 per hour</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul><p>Medical Specialty:</p><ul><li>Orthopedics</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p>
