Reporting to the Library Outreach Associate 3 and under the supervision of the Senior Library Outreach Associate, the Library Outreach Associate 2 plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Library Connect services. This position primarily entails delivering library services, overseeing collection maintenance, and contributing to general library programming along designated bookmobile routes.</p><p><b>
Hours Per Week: 20</b></p><p><b>
Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Operate the Library Connect van to transport it safely to designated sites across Riverside County, ensuring adherence to traffic laws and regulations.</li><li>
Assist patrons with book checkouts, inquiries, and other library services on the Library Connect van.</li><li>
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the Library Connect van, including shelving books and materials.</li><li>
Assist in managing the inventory and condition of Library Connect materials and resources.</li><li>
Ensure that library materials are properly organized and accessible to patrons.</li><li>
Support general library programming efforts, including setting up displays and assisting with program logistics.</li><li>
Engage with patrons of all ages, providing assistance, information, and a welcoming environment.</li><li>
Address patron inquiries and concerns with professionalism and sensitivity.</li><li>
Assist with the Library Connect routes and stops logistics, including setup and breakdown procedures.</li><li>
Communicate any immediate needs or issues related to the Library Connect van or its services to the Library Outreach Associate 3 or Senior Library Outreach Associate.</li><li>
Collaborate with the Library Outreach Associate 3 to ensure the smooth operation of the Library Connect programs and services.</li><li>

Requirements:

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
<br>Serve as backup driver for the bookmobile.Perform pre/post-trip inspections and report safety concerns. (Basic vehicle dimensions: exterior width 102”, exterior height 12’ 6”, exterior length 35’, wheelbase 174”).Act as a representative of Limitless Libraries Bookmobile at community events and literacy initiatives.Develop and execute age-appropriate programs and outreach activities aligned with NPL and MNPS goals.Create promotional materials and assist with social media content.Assist with collection management, circulation, and inventory tracking.Provide readers’ advisory, reference support, and basic technical instruction.Maintain accurate records of visits, schedules, and program outcomes; administer post-visit surveys.Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace; sanitize high-touch areas regularly.Lift and transport materials up to 50 lbs; work in various indoor/outdoor environments.
