SUMMARY: Reporting to the Associate Director of the D&rsquo;Arcy McNickle Center, the Tribal Outreach Coordinator will coordinate and administer activities within the Mellon Implementation grant, &ldquo;Expanding Indigenous Access and Stewardship at the Newberry Library&rdquo; (2026-2030) and support the McNickle Center&rsquo;s work as a meeting ground for research and collaboration with Native communities.</div><div></div><div> 
The Mellon-funded Implementation grant is a five-year community-driven initiative that centers Indigenous voices, builds lasting relationships, and creates accessible, sustainable pathways to Indigenous histories and knowledge. Building on a 2020&ndash;2023 Mellon-funded planning grant and larger institutional initiatives, the project will fund community-led research, digitization, and training&mdash;ensuring that American Indian and Alaska Native nations have greater access to and control over the presentation of historical materials that contain their histories and knowledge.</div><div></div><div> 
RESPONSIBILITIES:</div><div><ul><li>
Schedule, administer, and coordinate grant-related meetings and events, including internal meetings, tribal visits, onsite trainings, and conference attendance;</li><li>
Book travel and arrange catering for all grant related meetings and events;</li><li>
Attend all grant events, including occasional travel for conferences and tribal visits;</li><li>
Process invoices, cash reports, and check requests to ensure tribal partners are compensated in a timely manner;</li><li>

This position will be responsible for conducting outreach activities and case management within Athens &amp; neighboring counties: Jackson, Walton, and Barrow for individuals and families exhibiting a need for services and/or engagement. The focus of the position will be on active engagement and service linkage for individuals who may be demonstrating and/or soliciting a need for community support. Services will include direct client support, case management, service linkage, and advocacy to obtain mainstream services as appropriate. Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards:
Outreach &amp; Service Coordination<ul><li>
Initiates and maintains relationships with Advantage County Clinics to promote access to services for those living unsheltered within targeted counties.</li><li>
Initiates and maintains relationships with identified community partners to promote effective service coordination and community response to the needs of those within the program&rsquo;s target population.</li><li>
Maintains contact with other social service agencies and health care providers involved with clients to provide information and obtain feedback on client's overall progress

Role 
 
The Judy Center Early Learning Hub Outreach Coordinator reports to the Coordinator for Early Childhood Education and Judy Centers. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: (1) planning and conducting outreach activities in the community that identify and engage families preparing for birth or with children through age five within the assigned catchment area; (2) developing and implementing early childhood and adult education programs and services for children and families served by the Judy Center Early Learning Hub to encourage preparedness for school and address the 12 Component Standards dictated by the Maryland State Department of Education; and (3) providing family-centered case management services to families within the assigned catchment area. 
 
This position is grant funded and contingent upon grant renewal. 
 
Essential Functions 
 
Reporting directly to the Coordinator for Early Childhood Education and Judy Centers, the Outreach Coordinator performs, at a minimum, the following duties: 
 
Planning and Conducting Outreach Activities: 
<ul><li>Plans and manages a variety of outreach activities, including preparing detailed plans, coordinating site logistics, identifying and analyzing needs of the community, developing agendas and other activity materials and marketing strategies, and completing follow-up communication with eligible families and other action steps.</li>
<li>Maintains a visible presence in the assigned school building, especially during peak hours, including but not limited to car rider pickup and drop off, walker dismissal, and school-based parent programs or meetings, in order to identify families who may be eligible for services from the Judy Center Early Learning Hub.</li>
<li>Assists the Program Administrator in developing strategies for increasing program visibility and expansion.</li>
<li>Collaborates with the Program Administrator to maintain ongoing and clear communication, as well as effective advertisement, on Judy Center Early Learning Hub social media accounts.</li>
<li>Develops and coordinates the distribution of marketing materials, including but not limited to fliers, brochures, and pamphlets, to public locations surrounding the assigned Judy Center Early Learning Hub site.</li>
<li>Attends Title I and school-based after-school events and programming to identify eligible families and maintain positive relationships with school-based staff.</li>
