This is a field-remote position in Bakersfield or Tulare, Kern or Kings Counties in California. 
 
The Community Outreach Representative is responsible for generating local community brand awareness of the health plan with accountabilities in driving leads and sales (direct or indirect) through grass roots efforts. Acts as the face of Alignment Health Plan in their assigned market or geography.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Meets or exceeds weekly and monthly qualified lead goals. Helps local market achieve monthly sales goals; works with direct sales teams in lead development and public facing presentations (advertised or non-advertised) Cultivates new and maintains existing relationships with key senior and community influencers that culminate into lead generating events/activities and increase of name awareness for Alignment and its products. Sets-up and attends monthly events and activities through in-person visits, via telephone contact and through email, sources, plans. Events and activities include health fairs, presentations and or seminars at senior centers, food banks, churches, senior living facilities, various community organizations etc. Distributes approved marketing and event materials. Works with Corporate Marketing and Compliance Departments in the approval, development, and production of advertising materials and or invitations for events. Locates, plans, sets-up, attends and presents at Quarterly New Member Orientations and year-round Education events (as needed in a non-virtual event) in the local community. Educates the community on Alignment and its benefits, services and contracted providers and medical groups IPAs available to prospects. Promotes and increases name awareness and brand identity for Alignment and its products. Provides monthly calendar of their planned activities and ensures that all scheduled events filed Maintains weekly summary of activity and submits report on a weekly basis. Performs special projects as assigned to help drive leads for the company. Conducts and leads advertised sales mtgs in their territory. Calls on local Doctor offices to educate on the Alignment products and distribute flyers to generate referrals. 
Job Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities

The Business Development Representative is a growth driver who directly impacts the organization&rsquo;s expansion across a comprehensive portfolio of behavioral health services lines, including outpatient medication management and therapy service, Interventional Psychiatry (TMS, Spravato, and Ketamine), and psychological testing at Athena Care. This role is responsible for conducting market research across the middle Tennessee area, developing and maintaining a robust referral network, and providing on-the-ground support for business development and marketing initiatives serving as a knowledgeable representative for the full continuum of care offered by Athena Care. The ideal candidate harnesses the interpersonal skills of an effective business development professional while striking the balance between driving business growth, identifying qualified leads for optimal conversion, and demonstrating a basic understanding of clinical appropriateness to reduce the risk of overpromising and underdelivering. 
Core Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities
Market Development &amp; Referral Relationship Management<ul><li>
Identifies, cultivates, and maintains referral relationships throughout middle Tennessee based on targeted market research and identified organizational needs.</li><li>
Maintain regular outreach to current and potential referral partners (primary care, pediatricians, care managers, specialists, other behavioral health providers, employee assistance programs (EAPs), universities/ school systems, hospitals, etc), including goodwill visits and in-person presentations to introduce, educate, and promote the full range of Athena Care services.</li><li>
Identifies community organizations and events in which representatives of the organization may participate.</li><li>
Cultivates long-term relationships with referral partners and other mental health providers in communities served by the organization.</li></ul>
Education &amp; Liaison:<ul><li>
Acts as a liaison between referral partners and Athena Care, including both staff and providers, ensuring a seamless and responsive referral experience.</li><li>
Communicates referral status updates, other outside referral resources, as appropriate, and addresses referral partner concerns in a timely, professional manner.</li><li>
Partners closely with Athena Care's call center and referrals teams, alongside clinical leadership to remove barriers to access care and improve referral conversion rates.</li><li>
Collaborates with marketing team to gather and relay market feedback from referral partners to inform service delivery improvements and strategic planning.</li><li>
Maintains up-to-date and strong knowledge base of all services offered by Athena Care and is able to present on this information to a variety of audiences.</li><li>
Serves as a trusted resource for referral partners by providing clear, accurate, and approved clinical information to facilitate appropriate patient referrals.</li></ul>
Operations &amp; Reporting:<ul><li>
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all contacts, outreach activities, referral source data, and pipeline activity and health within Athena Care's CRM system to report out to leadership and the organization&rsquo;s PE partners.</li><li>
Conducts ongoing market research to identify emerging needs, competitive landscape, gaps in service access, and new business development opportunities.</li><li>
Collaborates with marketing to develop service-specific collateral, digital assets, and campaigns that support outreach efforts.</li><li>
Report out on KPIs including completed visits, referrals generated by source and service lines, and conversion rates.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Education/Experience:<ul><li>
Prior experience in a business development, sales or marketing role required.</li><li>
Experience in behavioral health or healthcare strongly preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of or experience with behavioral health services lines preferred.</li><li>
Experience working with CRM platforms (ie: Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot) preferred.</li><li>
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or other related fields preferred.</li></ul>
Licenses/Certifications:<ul><li>
Current, valid driver&rsquo;s license with no restrictions and ability to meet motor vehicle record check requirements as required by company&rsquo;s liability coverage provider.</li></ul>

Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to present complex clinical information clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences.</li><li>

Travel and Location Requirements:
This role serves the middle Tennessee market, including Nashville, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Hendersonville. Time is allocated approximately as follows:<ul><li>
25% in the Nashville area</li><li>
50% time traveling throughout middle Tennessee for in-person referral partner visits, community events, and onsite meetings</li><li>
25% time performing job duties remotely.</li></ul>
Occasional overnight travel may be required or travel to other Athena Care locations.
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
This is an office/remote based. While generally sedentary role with minimal physical requirements, the role requires regular travel by personal vehicle. Must be able to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods.</li></ul></div>
