Essential Functions:

<li>Capable of properly installing and removing PPE and cover up.</li>
<li>Must be able to climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so.</li>

<li>Capable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order.</li>
<li>Understands how to obtain a one shot on a recloser.</li>
<li>Must be able to effectively conduct a pre-job or tailgate briefing.</li>

<li>Willingness to glove/work live high voltage distribution power lines.</li>
<li>Capable of safely installing and removing mechanical jumpers.</li>

<div>The City of Ottumwa is looking for our next Airport Line Technician. This is a part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week. 


The Line Technician is one of the first points of contact with our guests coming in and out of the Ottumwa Regional Airport, so customer service is key! The Line Technician helps with the upkeep of terminals, hangars and airport grounds, along with fueling planes as they purchase fuel. They make sure terminals are litter-free, clean, safe and organized. The lineman also maintains aircraft hangars so planes can be parked or stored over night or for longer periods of time. During inclement weather, the lineman helps maintain walkways and steps so passengers have a safe route to and from aircraft and they also help de-ice aircraft.
Education / Training

 This is a PRN (as needed) role intended to provide coverage on an intermittent, fill-in basis. This is skilled and frequently supervisory work in the operation of airports. The fixed base operator employs line persons or ramp service persons who meet arriving aircraft, guide them to parking spots, assist pilots in securing their aircraft, and otherwise serve the general aviation pilots and their passengers.SCOPE OF WORK: Employees in this position are responsible for the skilled and safe operation of aviation ground moving equipment, as well as lawn care equipment, and airport fuel trucks. The candidate should have prompt execution of assignments according to established routine or special instructions received from a superior. Employees may also perform manual labor, and the duties frequently include responsibility for supervising employees assigned to the airport. Cullman Regional Airport is a General Aviation airport and serves local pilots along with corporate traffic and cargo.
