Job Description</b></div><div><b>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b>:</div><ul><li>
Reports directly to the Respirator/Oxygen Operations Manager.</li><li>
Performs 90-day equipment checks, servicing oxygen supplies, filter replacement, and performing safety assessments to Veterans in the Bend, OR area.</li><li>
Become familiar with all DOT and FDA regulations as they pertain to oxygen.</li><li>
Completes route sheet accurately and returns in a timely manner.</li><li>
Provides veteran orientation, instructing on the proper use, maintenance, and safety of equipment.</li><li>
Works with veterans to solve a variety of problems, thereby acting as a company field representative.</li><li>
Returns and unloads returned rental equipment, assuring proper segregation of clean and dirty equipment.</li><li>
Completes delivery and picks up paperwork promptly and accurately, including route sheets, manifests, and patient/client documentation, returning paperwork to the appropriate facility personnel.</li><li>
Assists in cleaning and disinfecting rental equipment.</li><li>
Assists in minor repair work on home medical equipment within the scope of training.</li><li>
Requests additional stock for inventory as needed.</li><li>
Assists in inventory count as needed.</li><li>
Maintains a professional appearance and appears in proper company uniform.</li><li>
Assists in tracking down paperwork, signatures, charts, etc. as needed to complete orders.</li><li>
Promotes teamwork among co-workers, including in assisting respiratory therapists and patient care coordinator as needed.</li><li>
Performs all office maintenance tasks as required.</li><li>
Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when dealing with patients/clients.<ul><li>

Qualifications</b>:</div><ul><li>
High School Diploma required.</li><li>
1-2 years of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) Medical Delivery Driver and/or with Oxygen knowledge experience.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact knowledgeably with customers/clients.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

</b></p><p>The certified respiratory therapist assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. This includes the delivery of medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by the provider. Additionally, therapists provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure. As part of patient assessment and management, the therapist performs diagnostic test procedures. In addition, therapists assist in departmental operations by assisting with quality improvement projects, equipment and supplies. The certified therapist follows all applicable rules and regulations established by the licensure board depending on the state in which respiratory therapy is practiced.
</p><ul><li>Provide Respiratory Care to newborn through geriatrics in generally predictable, although critical situations, under the supervision of the medical director.
</li><li>Possesses a sound knowledge and an adequate proficiency in the skills of Respiratory Care and Electrodiagnostic practices, procedures, and techniques, as they pertain to newborn through geriatric patients.
</li><li>Conducts physician prescribed treatments of a routine nature; operating Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPP) machine, various oxygen devices, nebulizer, or Metered Dose Inhaler to administer prescribed medications, gases and humidity and various oxygen concentrations to the respiratory system of the patient.
</li><li>Performs chest physiotherapy treatments involving percussion, postural drainage, adjunct therapy and suctioning to loosen and mobilize secretions and mucus in the lungs. Performs arterial puncture; operates blood gas analyzer measuring and determining the acid base balance efficiencies of ventilation, and metabolism of the respiratory system.
</li></ul><p><b>Requirements:
</b></p><ul><li>Certificate/ diploma in respiratory care.
</li><li>Prefer Associate degree in respiratory care.
</li><li>Must possess a current and valid KBRC license.
</li><li>Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

</li><li>ACLS, PALS and NRP certification within the first year of employment.
