ROLE: 
The Packaging Associate is responsible for the final review of finished product and packaging materials and for packaging product for delivery to our end user, the customer.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Visually inspect finished products and packaging materials to ensure they meet quality expectations
 Communicate concerns to Quality Auditor, Operator, Lead Operator and/or Supervisor
 Discard product that does not meet expectations in accordance with site procedures
 Be cognizant of surroundings and report any environmental, equipment or material issues that may arise.
 Package all product types for all lines in the facility
 Package final products in accordance with the specification requirements including
 Count and/or stack height
 Bagging of products
 Sealing of bags
 Boxing of product sleeves
 Apply required labeling and ensure date coding and other necessary information is as expected
 Build/stack boxes in accordance with pallet/stack layout
 Manually palletize as required
 Perform rework for rejected product or damaged boxes
 Able to properly utilize packaging equipment, including
 Resetting the ink jet printers.
 Operating the auto bagger and making minor adjustments as needed to ensure the product is protected.
 Using taping and/or box sealing equipment to properly seal the box
 Load and stage KDs (boxes), as directed
 Change or replace tape in box taper
 Clear product jams in packaging equipment
 Communicate need for restock of packaging materials on the lines
 Assist in scrap management
 Safely utilize the grinders to ensure scrap is recycled in a manner that ensures reintegration into the manufacturing process
 Remove scrap products or from around the former and place in appropriate disposal buggy
 Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including
 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection and appropriate footwear
 Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements, including but not limited to clean clothing that does not have beading, sequins, rhinestones, or other decoration that may become lose and fall into the manufacturing process, hair and/or beard nets, clean nails that are free of polish and natural eyelashes
 Standard Work Practices or Processes (SWP) requirements, including but not limited to:
 Following step by step procedures

 Recording/tracking production

The Production Packaging Associate is an entry level position, responsible for proper packaging of materials and finished products. Must be able to follow standard operating procedures</li><li>
Must be able to handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders</li><li>
Previous experience working with compressed gas and/or gas cylinders is a plus</li></ul>
Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Frequently pushes, pulls, moves and/or lifts up to 50 pounds independently</li><li>
Sitting 10% of the day; standing and/or walking 80-90% of the time</li><li>
Lifting/Carrying from one level to another approximately 20%</li><li>
Occasionally moves cylinders that weigh up to 200 pounds with four-wheel cart</li><li>
Frequently ascends/descends stairs and/or ladders, occasionally carrying materials weighing up to 30lbs</li><li>
Frequently identifies written information on cylinders such as serial numbers, manufacture date, etc.</li><li>
Frequently operates a computer using a traditional keyboard to input detailed information such as serial numbers</li><li>
Manipulations (seizing, holding, grasping or otherwise working with hands) up to 50-75% of the day</li><li>
Frequently drives a motorized vehicle or powered industrial truck (i.e. Forklift) and safely mauver in restrictive spaces</li><li>
Stooping and kneeling up to 20% of the day</li><li>
Frequently communicates detailed information to others. Must be able to exchange accurate information that others can understand.</li><li>
Constantly works in environments with uncontrolled climate and frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions</li></ul>
