<p><b>Packaging Technician I</b></p><p>We are excited to add another teammate to our cannabis packaging department!</p><p>This position is available now for part-time nonexempt work 2-3 days per week, 8 or 10-hour shifts, scheduled between Monday - Thursday 8:00AM- 6:30PM. Compensation is $16.50 per hour, and $17.00 per hour after a positive 90-day review. Additional benefits are listed in the Employee Handbook.</p><p>Primary Responsibilities | Essential Functions:</p><p>&middot; Packaging tasks such as: folding boxes, applying labels, opening/sealing bags, cleaning jars/lids, cleaning and sanitizing packaging tools/utensils/ dishware, filling/capping vape cartridges, filling/sealing honey sticks/jars, packaging edible products, Packaging cannabis extracts, cleaning transport coolers, folding parchment, and efficiently applying unique batch packaging by learned specifications.</p><p>&middot; Accurately weigh various types of extract batches into corresponding retail packages. Works under direction of supervision and follows established practices in performing all duties. Employees must have annual eye exams and be able to qualify as required to perform Visual Inspection of Parenteral Products (i.e., Liquid filled and Lyophilized vials and syringes). This requires individuals to pass Biennial re-qualification.<br>

<b>Job Function:
</b><ul><li>In accordance with specific instructions, performs a variety of functions involved in the preparation of packaged clinical supplies including filling, labeling, capping, and sealing a variety of vials, bottles, unit dose blister cards, pouches or other containers prepared for use in clinical studies, clinical stability or product registration use.</li><li>
Using equipment, assembles combination products/devices to be used in clinical studies.
</li><li>Performs in process sampling during operations and records data obtained.
</li><li>Weighs and/or hand counts dosage forms and records data obtained within the appropriate documents.
</li><li>Inspect labels (manually and with use of electromechanical equipment) against label proofs and other supporting documentation for confirmation of but not limited to the following characteristics: Count, Variable text, Character verification and Cosmetic defects. Label inspection must be accurate with no room for deviations.
</li><li>Completes all documentation supporting the preparation of clinical supplies and label inspection through interface with software-based processing instructions and data collection systems and use of equipment PLC's.
</li><li>Performs product inspection of supplies using SAP interface or other electromechanical equipment for verifying contents.
</li><li>Through interface with SAP performs calculations of label and product accountabilities.
</li><li>Alerts supervision of any irregularities in procedures or equipment operations</li><li>
Makes up carriers and shippers and prepares finished supplies for shipment.
</li><li>Assist in the (re)qualification and (re)validation of processing equipment. As necessary, cleans and wipes ceilings, floors and walls in the prescribed manner.
</li><li>Perform as required Visual Inspection of Parenteral Products, (i.e., Liquid filled and Lyophilized vials and syringes). This requires the operation of the semi-automated vial inspection machine or the use of manual inspection booths.</li><li>

</li><li>Technicians must maintain their skills and knowledge current with the advances in the field of Pharmaceutical Development.
</li><li>Incumbents may attend internal or external training courses as approved by management.
</li></ul>Training will be implemented to ensure operators receive relevant training to facilitate the performance of their job responsibilities. Assessment after training specific to a task will be an ongoing requirement. Interactive training modules may be used for training on specific competencies. If testing is not passed, the interactive learning and testing will be repeated.<br>

The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely operating packaging equipment while ensuring the highest integrity of the customer's product. This role focuses on preventing contamination, adhering to standardized processes, and meeting customer requirements. The Packaging Operator ensures all packaging operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and effectively at the assigned pack-out line while following company policies, core values, and safety procedures.</p><p><b>
Summary of Essential Job Functions</b></p><ul><li>
Operate and maintain safe packaging, material handling, and visual inspection processes within EHS and Quality policy guidelines.</li><li>
Adhere to Good Packaging Practices (GPPs) to maintain product integrity.</li><li>
Perform complete blowdowns in accordance with customer quality standards.</li><li>
Assist the Packaging Lead in setting up packaging lines.</li><li>
Set up transfer hoses to railcars while following GPPs.</li><li>
Verify and initial paperwork before starting new packaging orders.</li><li>
Review and initial test prints after approval from the Packaging Lead.</li><li>
Report any quality concerns encountered during packaging to the Packaging Lead.</li><li>
Complete assigned training in Paylocity to maintain compliance and skill development.</li><li>
Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area to ensure cleanliness and organization.</li><li>
Assist the Packaging Lead in completing all tasks assigned by management.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements</b></p><ul><li>
6&ndash;12 months of Warehouse experience.</li><li>
6&ndash;12 months of Operations experience.</li><li>
Ability to work with minimal supervision.</li><li>
Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.</li><li>
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.</li><li>
Ability to work rotating shifts and adapt to last-minute schedule changes.</li><li>
Flexibility to work with different crews as needed.</li><li>
Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.</li><li>
Ability to lift 55 lbs.</li><li>
Ability to stand for long periods.</li><li>

<b>ROLE:</b><br>
The Packaging Associate is responsible for the final review of finished product and packaging materials and for packaging product for delivery to our end user, the customer.
<br><br>
<b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><br>
Visually inspect finished products and packaging materials to ensure they meet quality expectations
<br>Communicate concerns to Quality Auditor, Operator, Lead Operator and/or Supervisor
<br>Discard product that does not meet expectations in accordance with site procedures
<br>Be cognizant of surroundings and report any environmental, equipment or material issues that may arise.
<br>Package all product types for all lines in the facility
<br>Package final products in accordance with the specification requirements including
<br>Count and/or stack height
<br>Bagging of products
<br>Sealing of bags
<br>Boxing of product sleeves
<br>Apply required labeling and ensure date coding and other necessary information is as expected
<br>Build/stack boxes in accordance with pallet/stack layout
<br>Manually palletize as required
<br>Perform rework for rejected product or damaged boxes
<br>Able to properly utilize packaging equipment, including
<br>Resetting the ink jet printers.
<br>Operating the auto bagger and making minor adjustments as needed to ensure the product is protected.
<br>Using taping and/or box sealing equipment to properly seal the box
<br>Load and stage KDs (boxes), as directed
<br>Change or replace tape in box taper
<br>Clear product jams in packaging equipment
<br>Communicate need for restock of packaging materials on the lines
<br>Assist in scrap management
<br>Safely utilize the grinders to ensure scrap is recycled in a manner that ensures reintegration into the manufacturing process
<br>Remove scrap products or from around the former and place in appropriate disposal buggy
<br>Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including
<br>Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection and appropriate footwear
<br>Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements, including but not limited to clean clothing that does not have beading, sequins, rhinestones, or other decoration that may become lose and fall into the manufacturing process, hair and/or beard nets, clean nails that are free of polish and natural eyelashes
<br>Standard Work Practices or Processes (SWP) requirements, including but not limited to:
<br>Following step by step procedures
<br>Maintaining workstation organization
<br>Recording/tracking production
<br>General Safety Rule requirements, including but not limited to not taking unsafe actions; reporting near misses, unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to the Supervisor, following proper lifting procedures, being attentive and using common sense
<br>Participate in all required communication and training meetings
<br>Support all LEAN and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including but not limited to 5S (Sort, set, shine, standardize and sustain) Standard Work and Eliminate Waste.
<br>Additional responsibilities as assigned.
