<p><b>San Bernardino County Special Districts</b> is recruiting for <b>Park Maintenance Worker III - Big Bear</b> to lead and participate in the construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of park facilities, grounds, and equipment. Incumbents provide direction and functional supervision to maintenance staff and assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and improvement projects.</p><p>
In general, Park Maintenance Worker IIIs perform and lead a variety of skilled maintenance activities to ensure park facilities and grounds are safe, clean, and available for public use. Duties may include landscape maintenance, irrigation repair, plumbing, carpentry, painting, concrete and asphalt work, electrical and mechanical repairs, tree care, safety inspections, equipment operation, and maintaining records related to park operations. <li>Completes minor repairs (i.e., icemakers, dyers, washers, dishwashers, small appliances)</li>
<li>Prepares apartments for residency: wall repairs, painting, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, cabinetry, appliance repair, carpet/drapery damage or replacement, etc.</li>
<li>Completes safety inspections: emergency lighting, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, fire drills, etc.</li>
<li>Ensures effective pest control program is implemented</li>
<li>Schedules preventive maintenance to refurbish or replace deteriorating items and avoid future costly repairs</li>
<li>Inspects energy conservation efforts community wide (i.e., insulation of pipes, no excessive lights burning, thermostat settings, not leaving doors and windows open, water conservation.)</li>
<li>Promptly notifies Executive Director of maintenance related repairs or other concerns</li>
<li>Keeps outside traffic areas free of with debris, snow, ice and other traffic hazards</li>
<li>Assists with resident move in and move out as necessary</li>
<li>May oversee housekeeping department</li>

<b>Additional Requirements:</b><br>

<li>Must have a valid driver’s license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Century Park standards</li>
<li>Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action</li>
<li>Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in an assisted living community</li>
<li>Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the maintenance department</li>
<li>Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: general maintenance responsibilities, supervisory responsibilities, resident rights, and safety and sanitation</li>
<li>Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information</li>
<li>Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures</li>

Job Summary:</b></div><div>
The Painter I is a skilled maintenance position responsible for performing surface preparation, painting, staining, and finishing work on a wide variety of facilities and assets. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Perform the skills necessary for the safe and quality completion of surface preparation, painting, staining, and finishing of Xanterra facilities, structures, and assets.</li><li>
Perform, track, and report work associated with corrective and preventive maintenance of structures and equipment using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and work order logs.</li><li>
Use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to complete assigned work orders in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.</li><li>
Contribute to a safe, clean, healthy, respectful, and cooperative work environment.</li><li>
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, maintaining a polite demeanor and professional appearance.</li><li>
Work independently with limited supervision; demonstrate self-motivation and accountability for assigned tasks.</li><li>
Be willing to occasionally work overtime, nights, or adjusted schedules based on operational needs.</li><li>
Follow and enforce safety protocols for surface preparation in accordance with the company Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) and Lead-Based Paint (LBP) Programs.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Advanced painting skills, including surface preparation and finish application.</li><li>
Working knowledge of a wide range of painting tools, products, coatings, and their proper use in various applications.</li><li>
Receptive to training and able to quickly acquire new skills and technical knowledge.</li><li>
Proficient computer skills, including the ability to use CMMS and digital work order systems.</li><li>
Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments, priorities, and procedures.</li><li>
Working knowledge of applicable OSHA and NFPA safety regulations and requirements.</li><li>
Ability to recognize and correct unsafe work practices or equipment installations that do not meet code.</li><li>
Ability to mentor and train less experienced maintenance staff.</li><li>
Demonstrated innovation, professional curiosity, patience, and tenacity when faced with new or complex challenges.</li></ul><div>
Physical Requirements include:</div><ul><li>
May require the use of respiratory protection and compliance with applicable respiratory protection program regulations, including restrictions on the length and location of facial hair.</li><li>
May require work in confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces.</li><li>
Ability to walk up to one-half mile over uneven terrain and perform work at elevations exceeding 6,000 feet.</li><li>
Ability to climb stairs and ladders; stand, bend, kneel, and crawl in all types of weather conditions.</li><li>
Capable of lifting, carrying, and handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.</li><li>
Possess the physical stamina required to perform heavy labor in an outdoor environment.</li><li>
Must be at least 21 years of age.</li><li>
