Under general supervision, provide a wide variety of highly responsible and confidential administrative<br>

the administrative office, coordinates administrative activities of the department with staff at all levels<br>
and with the general public, and serves as a representative of the administration office in contact with<br>
other employees, elected officials and the general public.</p></div>

<div><p><b>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</b><br>
1. Provides administrative support by performing difficult, diverse, and confidential<br>
administrative duties in support of the Parks &amp; Recreation Senior Leadership team.<br>
2. Provides general customer service to the public by greeting visitors and answering the<br>
telephone. Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive complaints and inquiries; provides<br>
general and specialized information and assistance with the area of assignment that may<br>
require the use of judgment, tact, and sensitivity and the interpretation of policies, rules, and<br>
procedures as appropriate.<br>
3. Conducts assigned research; develops recommendations for Senior Leadership Team and<br>
department wide work methods, operating policy, procedures, and other administrative<br>
issues.<br>
4. Performs purchasing activities for the Senior Leadership team using the City&rsquo;s automated<br>
purchasing system to process purchasing requests and payments, assuring proper budgetary<br>
coding and approval. Researches availability, quality and price of items to be purchased<br>
following appropriate purchasing guidelines.<br>
5. Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the Department&rsquo;s office budget. Reviews<br>
expenditures, detect possible shortages, and project office budgetary needs.<br>
6. Receives program registrations and facility reservations. Provides information and answer<br>
questions about park facilities and recreational programs and events.<br>
7. Collect monies for fees and donations; keep records of all cash receipts, count and balance<br>
funds and prepare for daily deposits.<br>
8. Schedules and coordinates appointments and meetings for the Senior Leadership team,<br>

9. Screens telephone calls and visitors requiring considerable judgment to determine how the<br>

POSITION SUMMARY</b><br>
Mecklenburg County Park &amp; Recreation Department is excited to add a Nurse to support our programming across Park and Recreation (including our Therapeutic &amp; Inclusive Recreation Services (TIRS) Division). This temporary position will work with internal and external customers on medication administration, illness management and education and managing other medical needs for our Park &amp; Recreation program participants. The incumbent will also provide support and education/training for staff on any medical needs, medication administration and care plans. This position will work on a PRN basis with schedule dependent on business and care needs. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:</b></p><p>

You must be at least 18 years of age or older.</b></li><li>
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in operations or guest-facing roles, ideally in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Prior supervisory or leadership experience.</li><li>
Background in retail sales, food &amp; beverage, amusement/entertainment, or recreation strongly preferred.</li><li>
Basic proficiency with technology, including point-of-sale (POS) systems and tools like Microsoft Office Suite and Teams; comfortable learning new platforms as needed.</li><li>
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when the park (and the magic) is most alive.</li><li>
Reliable, self-motivated, organized, and eager to grow into higher levels of responsibility.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and positively influence others.</li><li>
Curiosity about how daily operations connect to the bigger picture, including shift flow, guest experience, safety, and team performance.</li><li>
A hands-on, team-first mindset, you&rsquo;re quick jump in where needed and support others without being asked.</li><li>
A strong sense of personal ownership, you show up prepared, follow through on responsibilities, and lead by example.</li><li>
Sound judgment and the ability to stay respectful, calm, and coachable in high-pressure moments.</li><li>
Ability to move throughout all areas of the park, interact with guests and team members in a high-energy, often loud environment, and lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
