<p><b>Patient Accounts Coordinator Position Summary</b></p>
<p>The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications is required for all Patient Care area Positions.
</p><p>The Patient Account Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the insurance verification, pre-certification, billing, and follow-up process and workflow for the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute and/or the Allen Cancer Center. Coordinates third-party payers&rsquo; requirements related to access, registration, billing and collection of accounts. Ensures all verifications and information is completed in accordance with established regulatory and policy requirements. Facilitates workflow between TidalHealth&rsquo;s finance departments, the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute departments, and/or Allen Cancer Center departments (radiation oncology, medical oncology, infusion center, oncology lab). Is responsible for identifying and enrolling patients in patient assistance programs and/or drug replacement programs for oral and IV chemotherapy/biotherapy regimens. Essential Functions</p><br>

<li>Prepares reports of denials, credit balances, payer opportunities.
</li><li>Analyzes rejection reports and errors made by system and teammates. Requests system changes, reports error rates by teammate and collaborates with training to ensure improvement is achieved and sustained.
</li><li>Prepares Medicare/Medicaid quarterly credit balance reports. Approve refunds as defined in departmental threshold guidelines.
</li><li>Assists Supervisor/ Manager with quality checks for all payers and departments.
</li><li>Performs quality assurance tasks as needed to validate workflow builds, claim edit actions, automatic actions in Epic, process improvements, etc.
</li><li>Analyzes denial reasons provided by payers. Collaborates with management to identify, trend and address root causes of denials.

Supports the credit balance team in resolving complex issues on patient accounts.<p><b>
Essential Functions</b></p><ul><li>
As a Lead Credit Balance Representative, you will be the Subject Matter Expert for the following:</li><li>
Researches, validates and approves adjustments and refunds</li><li>
Provides training and coaching to credit balance team while maintaining confidentiality</li><li>
Confidential presentation of individual credit balance team&rsquo;s Quality Assurance (QA) audits</li><li>
Timely coordination and resolution of compliance, third-party and audit refund projects</li><li>
Assist Credit Balance Leadership in creating and updating department workflows</li><li>
Coordination with other departments and Credit Balance Clerical team to ensure checks are printed and processed in a timely manner</li><li>
Partner with finance departments to research and complete reconciliation</li></ul><p></p><p><b>

Two (2)+ years of experience in hospital or physician back-end insurance related activities (Billing &amp; Follow-Up) required</li><li>
Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare billing regulations required</li><li>
Epic systems experience preferred</li><li>
Lead experience preferred</li><li>
