<li>Performs EKGs, removal of Foley catheters, and bladder scans under the guidance of a registered nurse.</li>
<li>Place patient on monitor telemetry leads.</li>
<li>Apply external devices (such as SCD's, Pulse Oximetry, TPump, etc.) per provider order.</li>
<li>Maintain safety initiatives including but not limited to hourly rounding, answering lights, monitoring patients who are at high risk for falls, and provide 1:1 bedside companionship for patients as indicated.</li>
 <li>Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.</li>
<li>Conveys an attitude of understanding, trust, and compassion for individuals.</li>

<br>The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC), a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Cellular Therapy and Blood Cancers Inpatient clinic. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant serves as a key clinical provider within a highly specialized, multidisciplinary team, working in close collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and support staff. This role involves the comprehensive management of patients with hematologic malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndromes, many of whom are undergoing intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and cellular therapies.
<br>Responsibilities include performing detailed patient assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, managing treatment related toxicities, performing bedside procedures (LPs and bone marrow biopsies), and coordinating care throughout the inpatient stay. The APP plays a critical role in clinical decision making, patient education, and ensuring continuity of care in a high acuity environment.

Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Qualifications:</p><ul><li>
License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required</li><li>
Education: Completion of master&rsquo;s level program in specialty area</li><li>
Certification: BLS/CPR certification required</li><li><b>
Experience</b><b>:</b><b> Minimum of two years APP experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.
