Our Medical Surgical Observation Unit is a fast paced 24 bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit. Common problems seen in our unit include chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our nurse to patient ratio ranges from 4-6 patients depending on acuity. Our patient care tech ratio can range from 8-16 patients. Our care team includes a Charge Nurse, staff nurses and patient care techs with support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments. We orient new patient care techs with a 4-6 week orientation program with a dedicated preceptor team.
