Responsibilities</b><p><br>
The Registration Representative is responsible for the accurate check-in/admissions/registration of incoming patients in the hospital or ED setting. These activities may involve in-person, phone, or virtual registrations. This includes the verification of patient demographic information, collection of insurance data, the identification and/or creation of appropriate accounts, obtaining patient signatures and providing required forms or letters, acting as an ambassador; assisting patients with self-registration, and the collection of indicated co-payments and/or share of cost. The Registration Representative is required to ensure patient safety using positive patient identification protocols and obtain the appropriate consents as required. May assist patients with hospital presumptive eligibility or Medicaid applications. In person registration requires the ability to physically walk to patients&rsquo; location throughout the emergency department and/or hospital. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit&rsquo;s performance expectations.</p><b><br>

Responsibilities:
<div><b>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):</b></div><ul><li>
coordinate with nursing staff, case managers, and physicians to assign beds for incoming patients based on medical needs, availability, and urgency</li><li>
Monitor bed occupancy and status in real-time using hospital information systems</li><li>
act as a liaison between various hospital departments to facilitate smooth patient transfers and optimize bed usage</li><li>
Update patient data in the hospital&rsquo;s electronic medical record (EMR) system to reflect admissions, discharges, and transfers accurately</li><li>
Run reports and analyze bed utilization trends to support hospital operations</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<div><b>

Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.</li><li>
Effective written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.</li><li>
Analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Customer Services experience required.</li><li>
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).</li></ul><br>
