Responsibilities*</b></h2><p>
Transportation staff will arrive at the unit with the transport vehicle (i.e., stretcher or wheelchair) specified at the time of request, stop at the Nursing station to retrieve the chart and/or card, report to the patient's room, greet the patient by name, identify the patient by armband, and introduce themselves to the parents, patient, and nursing staff as appropriate. Assist the patient and/or nursing with the physical transfer of the patient onto the vehicle and transport the patient to the appointment. Bodies of deceased patients will be transported to the Morgue by transport personnel.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Required Qualifications*</b></h2><p>
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities, including: pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc. Must be able to read and write English.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

<li>Employs safe lifting techniques when transporting patients to and from beds, exam tables, stretchers and wheelchairs</li>
<li>Sets up different types of traction for patient use</li>
<li>Transports deceased patients to the morgue</li>
<li>Picks up requisitions for blood, pharmacy meds and slips from required units and delivers to the appropriate service; delivers stat, lab specimens, and medical charts</li>
<li>Inventories and exchanges oxygen cylinder and other gas tanks to maintain patient needs</li>
<li>Inventories and fills over the counter General Stores products correctly and efficiently</li>

 The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $35,496 / year.
