Scope of the Role
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing high-volume data entry and processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests within the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process for CooperCompanies&rsquo; North America entities. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with company policies and timely execution of invoice processing. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the AP Specialist operates within a Global Business Services (GBS) environment, supporting standardization and efficiency across shared services. 
Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Payment Processing Manager, the Payment Processing Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all childcare providers are paid promptly. Due to the nature of the workflow, the Payment Processing Clerk is required to assist in reviewing data on vouchers against the attendance sheets and/or PPR logs. MAOF has a first come first serve process and is committed to accurately processing the attendance sheets and/or PPR logs and submitting the payment vouchers to the Accounting Department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Once the Payment Processing Clerk delivers top-sheets with corresponding vouchers the following process takes place:
<ul><li>Date stamp top-sheets and vouchers</li>
<li>Verify that the top-sheet listing matches the attached corresponding vouchers</li>
<li>Assure that you have one copy of top-sheet and one copy of all vouchers</li>
<li>Deliver top-sheet with the corresponding vouchers &amp; attendance sheets and/or payment processing request forms to the Accounts Payable Unit for check processing</li></ul> 

Once the Accounts Payable unit prints the checks and delivers them back to the Payment Processing Clerk the following process takes place:

 &bull; Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues
 
 
 &bull; Respond to vendor inquiries and communicate effectively regarding payment status
 
 
 &bull; Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and accounts payable reconciliations
 
 
 &bull; Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
 
 
 &bull; Support 1099 preparation and year-end reporting requirements
 
 
 &bull; Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper documentation and approval workflows

 Education &amp; Experience:
 
 
 &bull; High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate&rsquo;s or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
 
 
 &bull; 1&ndash;3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
