The Help Desk Specialist will perform technical, operational, and training support (Tier 2) to users and technical teams, for PC desktop hardware, output devices, and software packages to support our Army Corps of Engineers &ndash; Revolutionary Information Technology Services (RITS) program. The RITS program provides modern and secure enterprise-wide IT support services to approximately 37,000 USACE customers located throughout the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).

  Key Responsibilities

   Install and test output devices, PC&rsquo;s, and other peripherals, configure the operating system, load shrink-wrap programs, and other application software programs.

   Troubleshoot output devices, PC&rsquo;s, and peripheral incidents, perform hardware and software diagnostics, coordinate needed repairs, resolve output device system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area network, and participate in the evaluation of system configuration and software.

   Ensuring printer firmware and CAC software are in compliance, and work instructions are current.

The duties of the position include fielding incidents via phone and email from client users. The Onsite Help Desk Technician is responsible for resolving all Tier 1&nbsp; and passing all other requests on to tier 2 and Tier 3 technicians.&nbsp; The technician will also work on projects assigned by internal client IT staff.&nbsp;

Desktop Support Technician - Tier I/II

Beaufort Memorial Hospital

The Information Systems Technician provides first response telephone support for all end users on a wide variety of hardware, network, software and server issues. When unable to resolve, refers caller to appropriate IS staff member. Documents customer trouble reports in help desk database system and contacts customers to clarify request and ensures all necessary information is included. Support users at all BMH facilities.

Assists with remote sites and physician offices in planning, troubleshooting, testing, training and understanding PC based software, and Meditech, as well as assisting assigned departments with their information needs.
