<div><p>Franciscan Children&rsquo;s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join a <b>growing, mission-driven, and increasingly academic inpatient medical program</b> focused on children with complex medical and rehabilitative needs.</p><p>
This is a unique opportunity to practice in a <b>post-acute care and rehabilitation setting</b>. Physicians in this role care for children transitioning from acute hospitalization toward <b>medical stability, a new functional baseline, and discharge</b>, with a strong emphasis on active management, rehabilitation, and safe, efficient transitions of care. This is not a chronic or custodial care model; rather, it is a dynamic, goal-oriented environment where providers play a central role in helping patients <b>move forward</b>.</p><p>
For physicians currently practicing in high-acuity tertiary centers, this role offers the opportunity to <b>maintain clinical complexity and intellectual engagement</b>, while gaining the time and perspective to <b>optimize recovery, coordinate care across settings, and see the full arc of a patient&rsquo;s progress</b>.</p><p>
Franciscan Children&rsquo;s is entering a period of significant growth, including <b>expansion of clinical programs, deepening affiliation with Boston Children&rsquo;s Hospital, and planning for a new state-of-the-art hospital within the next five years</b>. This position is ideal for a physician who is motivated to <b>help shape the future of post-acute pediatric care </b>through program development, quality improvement, and academic engagement.</p><p>

Clinical Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Provide comprehensive inpatient care to children with <b>ongoing active medical and rehabilitative needs</b> following acute hospitalization</li><li>Manage patients with <b>technology dependence</b>, including tracheostomy, ventilator support, gastrostomy tubes, and central lines, with a focus on <b>weaning, optimization, and discharge readiness</b></li><li>Lead admissions, daily management, and discharge planning, with a strong emphasis on <b>throughput, progression, and safe transition to home or lower levels of care</b></li><li>Work within a <b>highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team</b>, including rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, nursing, and care coordination</li><li>Supervise and partner with <b>advanced practice providers</b></li><li>Coordinate subspecialty care and ensure <b>alignment of care plans with discharge goals</b></li><li>Partner closely with families to support <b>education, training, and readiness for care at home or in the community</b></li></ul><p><b>
