Summary</h2></div><div>
The Division of Hospital Medicine of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine has an opening for a full-time faculty position at CHRISTUS Children's as a Pediatric Hospitalist. This position comes with a faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics, a competitive salary, and full benefits package. The rank of the appointment will be determined by the candidates' credentials and experience. Physicians interested in joining the PHM division must be committed to education, collaboration and excellence in patient care. 
The PHM division consists of thirteen pediatric hospitalists, two fellows and administrative coordinator. We provide 24/7 in-house coverage and clinical responsibilities include: inpatient management of patients on the general medicine wards, consultation or co-management services to various sub-specialty services, and care of normal newborns. There is full coverage of pediatric specialists and pediatric surgical services with BCM and Christus Children's. Additional duties include active teaching of our PHM fellows, BCM pediatric residents, medical students and outside rotators. Our team takes primary ownership of many hospital- based operations including: family-centered care, quality and process improvement and patient safety initiatives. A Brief Overview

What you will do<ul><li>
Provides and manages direct inpatient care, including history and physical examinations, evaluations and assessments, diagnosis and treatment, and procedures consistent with core privileges as outlined by Methodist Healthcare Medical Staff policy.</li>
<li>Orders, performs and interprets examinations and tests and analyzes records and reports to diagnose patient conditions.</li>
<li>Coordinates work with nurses, pharmacists, social workers, case managers and other health care team members.</li>
<li>Provides leadership and training in education to graduate medical and other approved educational programs.</li>
<li>Functions as the Hospital&rsquo;s attending physicians for Educational Programs.</li>
<li>Provides timely and accurate completion of medical and billing records.</li>
<li>Participates in hospital&rsquo;s utilization management, risk management and performance improvement programs.</li>

The 135 bed regional hospital cares for children across five counties and is the only childrens hospital between Tampa and Miami. Position Information:
The Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology at Golisano Childrens Hospital is seeking a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist Hospitalist to join our team.
Our outpatient clinic with 6 exam rooms, 10-room infusion center, outpatient procedure facilities and 13-bed inpatient unit are all conveniently located on the 5th floor of Golisano Childrens Hospital. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing program at Golisano Childrens Hospital. With around 60 newly diagnosed oncology patients a year and nearly 200 sickle cell patients, the candidate will be exposed to the full scope of both Hematology and Oncology. We count on an extensive multidisciplinary team including APHON certified/chemotherapy certified nurses, social workers, child life specialists, pediatric psychologist, a nurse educator, and two research coordinators. Additionally, our Naples clinic has a cutting edge 270-degree immersion room that provides entertainment to our patients during prolonged infusions. We are active members of COG through the Florida Pediatric NCORP. Our division is also fortunate to have one of our part-time providers hybrid to Medical Informatics to tailor BEACON on our EPIC EMR to the needs of our specialty.
Currently, this is an inpatient services position for 7 days on/7 days off, rounding daily when on service model.

Provide medical care and management for patients, exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided for the Internal Medicine patient with an emphasis on cardiology patients. Function independently to plan, deliver, and evaluate health care for the Internal Medicine cardiology inpatient population. Job includes rotating through several services, including hospitalist teams and cardiology consult team
As the hospitalist team, facilitate the transition of care from the ED to inpatient cardiology services. Focus on the caring for hospitalized patients to manage care and length of stay, improve resource utilization and decrease costs to patients and the institution while providing personalized care. On the cardiology consult service, evaluate and manage cardiology consult inpatients and work with the primary team to facilitate appropriate care, including cardiac catheterization, and medication therapy. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License<ul><li>
Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.</li><li>
Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services</li></ul>
Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located.
Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

</li></ul>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions<ul><li>
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.</li><li>
Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.</li><li>
Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.</li><li>
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.</li><li>
Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.</li><li>
Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.</li><li>
May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.</li><li>
Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.</li><li>
Physical Abilities Testing may be required.</li><li>
