Minimum Eligibility Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>A high school diploma or equivalent preferred</li>
<li>Minimum of 1-year of previous experience as a Caregiver or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting (experience may depend on state requirements)</li>

Essential Functions:

<li>Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including; pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation</li>
<li>Assists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly manner</li>
<li>Accepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for the security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shifts</li>
<li>May be called upon to assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility, as needed</li>
<li>Engages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care and medication assistance</li>
<li>Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary</li>
<li>Upholds Residents’ Rights at all times</li>
<li>Supports and upholds all company policies and care philosophy</li>
<li>Observes residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse</li>
<li>Completes all documentation such as medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely manner</li>
<li>Assists in the dining room during resident meal times as needed</li>
<li>Encourages residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, and provides residents with opportunities for self-expression and enhanced self-esteem through spontaneous individual or small group interaction and activity</li>

Benchmark Senior Living is looking for a compassionate Certified Medication Technician to join our team! As a CMT, your main role will be to deliver care to our residents within a warm, comfortable, and home-like environment.
 Responsibilities

<li>Communicates questions, concerns, and/or discrepancies related to medication administration to the Resident Care Director (RCD).</li>
<li>Communicates any significant change of mental or physical status of resident to RCD.</li>
<li>Documents supervision of self-administration in MAR.</li>
<li>Documents/ notifies RCD of administration of prn meds.</li>
<li>Responsible for documentation on prn meds and affect.</li>
<li>Recognizes and can assist in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.</li>

Requirements

<li>Must have state Medication Technician License and demonstrate competency in accordance with the state-approved protocol in drug administration</li>
<li>Successfully complete medication technician competency review (as supervised by RN / RCD) quarterly</li>
<li>CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire</li>
<li>The Medication Technician must complete a state approved training course in drug administration and receive a certificate of satisfactory successful completion.</li>
<li>Med-Techs will be evaluated on their competency by the RCD each quarter</li>
<li>Must have current certification as a nursing assistant or have successfully completed the certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker training program</li>
