Essential Functions</b></p><ul><li>
Assists with all phases of pharmacy services while under the supervision of a pharmacist as required by state of practice and job duties.</li><li>

Attains appropriate supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist(s) and clearly understands when a pharmacist must verify tasks and activities.</li><li>
Accurately fills and maintains medication supplies including verifying and monitoring controlled substance inventories to ensure security, accuracy, cost effectiveness, and 340B/Charging management as required to practice site.</li><li>

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs work of a pharmacy technician, in accordance with Article 137 of the Education Law, specifically Article137-A, which details the tasks permitted for a licensed pharmacy technician and an unlicensed pharmacy technician. Ensures patient safety, optimal utilization of resources, service delivery and compliance with NYC Health + Hospitals, health care setting, and all other relevant regulatory policies and standards of care to improve outcomes and patient experience.</p><p><b>
Examples of Tasks and Responsibilities</b>:</p><p>
1. Validates patient identity and screens prescriptions for completeness, formulary/restriction and payment status, prior to processing.</p><p>
2. Receives written or electronically transmitted prescriptions, types prescription labels and affixes labels on containers.</p><p>
3. Accurately keys and retrieves prescription data from a computer-generated file for review by a pharmacist.
